Why not have it so that when you rent an office spot at a station you get a deed for it?
This deed can be the contract of ownership between you and the corporation that owns the station.
This deed could be used to sell or trade office spaces with other people. A simple trade of the deed using the current system will allow to pass ownership to another person or corporation and assume the cost of rent.
Right now there are many spots in the universe that are prime property. This can become a hot realestate market and people can buy their way into a good location or owners of extra offices in those "hot" areas could make a beefy profit.

You can do that but it's open for scams. There is no way to securely trade for ownership.
Corp A pays B to unrent spot for them, corp B takes your money and doesn't unrent spot followed by multiple "lol".
or
Corp B unrents spot for corp A, corp A rents his spot and doesn't pay corp B, corp A keeps your money followed by multiple "lol" and celebrations of their new office spot.
A secure way to trade for office spots would be a great feature and it could open up a brand new market.

That's another possibility. This is the reason it would be nice to have a secure way to trade office ownership.

Edited by: MrPops on 19/08/2003 19:41:12 My idea is not meant so a corp can go out there, buyout all the offices all over then sell them for a profit. If CCP were to implement a secure office ownership trade system, CCP would also have to limit the ammount of offices a corporation would be able to own. I think it would be nice to get rid of some of my extra offices via a "realstate" market and be able to make such transaction in a secure way.
This system can also be implemented for when player owned bases come out. A base owner can sell deeds for rent contracts. This allows the owner to choose who he wants to sell a spot to and trade the deed to the buyer.
