Today I was playing eve just fine logged out like normal came back a few minutes later and nothing black screened. Here is the events that takes place every single time no matter which character I am logging in;
Startup popup enter username enter password hit enter goes through the load up stage goes full screen then black and doesn't change from there at all......
please help
I have restarted the mac opened the client from desktop and applications menu. I have also cleared the cache to make sure that something goofy wasn't going on there. |

Make sure your library is visible. If it isn't, open terminal and type:
chflags nohidden ~/Library/
Go to:

Not sure where my other post went, but here is a shorter version.
I have a brand new 27" iMac and have the same issue. I have to clear user cache / game data to fix it. It's a total PITA because it resets everything in-game (overview etc etc).
I'll try to make the library visible so hopefully I can create good backups of those files as a workaround. But for me the question is do the devs know about this issue, and is there anything I can do to help submit logs to get it looked into? It basically makes EVE unplayable (imagine FC'ing a fleet, having the game crash, then re-launch it to black screen, and spend a few minutes futzing with clearing this stuff then resetting overview settings while the fleet waits for you to re-join, or just dies).

Thanks. This one resolves the crash some people have been reporting too. The crash message is: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x1579fff0 at address 0x901ddb16. Do you wish to debug it ?

You can also got to the library by going to the finder, clicking on the "go" menu and holding down the option key.
Edit: If you do have a working client, save copies of those four files some place safe. Restore them when the client goes bad. I got 3 clones and will sometimes fix issues by copying those files from a working clone to a glitched clone. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

I filed a ticket on this. Got a response that:
"A patch was deployed today that addresses a run time issue that some players have been experiencing. If you continue to encounter issues after today's patch then please submit a bug report." |

New patch didn't work for me. bug report filed. But it appears that the server player numbers are back into the 40,000s, so thats encouraging. |

We are working on this!
It would be helpful to get machine specs from everyone experiencing this issue. We've been unable to reproduce this so far, but I'm wondering if there is some pattern to what machines are affected.

Rather then being a problem on specific machines, I think it is more an issues of the NVIDIA graphic chips which most of the Mac, and Mac portables use, ratrher look into that... |

hi guys! I had a similar problem, and I eventually figured out it was caused by using the Mumble overlay. To fix it I checked the box in the settings panel for display and graphics that says use multithreaded opengl and that fixed it. Also, not using the mumble overlay also fixed it. I hope this helps some people! Justin |

Justin - how did you set the openGL threading option? When I launch, it goes black screen before I can select anything. Then the whole computer locks up. Is there a back door to set those options?
