Is this place easily MARTA accessible? I fly into town for DragonCon and accessibility is a major issue.

Glad to see there is something EVE related happening this weekend at DCON. Hope to be able to meet up with you all at some point. |

The Joystick has a pretty pricey per-hour for private parties and doesn't open til 5. On the other hand, The Brick Store is one of the top beer bars in the world and is just a short walk from CCP's office. We will go congregate at the Brick Store when they open at 11am on Saturday as our "main meetup." It's well within taxi range of the Con and I think there may be MARTA bus routes that work.
Somer Blink has donated a number of promo codes, PLEX and faction battleships for this, by the way. CCP has promised swag but what they're giving is still TBD.. you don't want to miss out! :) |

ohh The Brick Store looks nice. Had heard about it and was thinking of tossing it on the private agenda to visit but since it's now Sat lunch. well that'll work nicely. See everyone in just a couple days. |

So Glad that something is going down at DragonCon this year! As large as this convention is I would be shocked if CCP did not have some sort event or booth (of any size), however it is good to see that the players are towing the line.
I, unfortunately, will be attending RL events out of town this weekend, and will only be able to hang out for a little while Thursday and Friday morning (my building for work is two blocks away from the convention).
I would like to get something set up a bit more often, if possible, after DragonCon. Perhaps at Battle and Brew in Marietta or the Joystick in Atlanta, to conduct future events (quarterly???)
For those you you meeting up this weekend at DCon, have a blast! |

I wouldn't taxi from the convention to The Brick Store, but it is definitely along the marta lines. In fact, the marta (train) stops almost directly under it. |

The goal is monthly, hitting both those places and a few others on a rotating schedule. :) |

Didnt see this until pretty last minute (i.e. now), but seems like a lot of fun. Will try to show up for at least a few of the events if my schedule permits. |

As an Atlanta resident this is great news. Sadly I am actually out of town this weekend.
That said I would like to say that The Porter is NOT "one of the world's best beer bars," it's just an ok beer bar. There are definitely better. That addendum should be removed from the schedule since I wouldn't want someone to think that's the best Atlanta has got. |

It's literally consistently rated in the top beer bars in the world by the snobbiest of beer geeks, mostly based on selections. It can be tight and crowded and not your scene, but it is what it is. I love it cause it's the only place I've found that I can get Three Floyds of any kind. v0v |

Today at The Brick Store Pub was a ton of fun, thanks to Jaffinator for setting this up, and special thanks to the guys (and girls) from the Atlanta office who came down to visit and handed out all sorts of cool prizes! |

Alright friends, a few things:
1. HUGE THANK YOUS! Thank you to CCP, to Somer and most importantly to YOU for coming out and making this go down. We had a fantastic turnout.
2. Many of you are locals and many of you want to do this regularly. I see no reason why we shouldn't. I am already in the "planning stages" for our next one - which basically means throwing a dart at the calendar and picking a date, I mean let's be honest.
3. Friends were made yesterday - to keep in touch, please join the "Eve Atlanta" channel in game to stay in touch with your new buddies and space ship enemies.
If you missed this or skipped it, you missed: - 45+ nerds in a Belgian beer bar talking about spaceships - Meeting a large portion of the GM team here in Atlanta - Drawings for 60-day time codes, faction ship models, pirate battleships, PLEX, shirts, mousepads - something like $1000+ / 50bil ISK+ worth of stuff!
Don't miss the next one. :) |

I'm putting this magazine in mylar, soon as I get home. Don't read in the bathtub what you can't afford to lose, as the saying goes. haha Those model ships were purty damn cool too. Almost makes me think about where I'd put a Rifter. (Spoiler: I've already thought about it.)
Nice idea Jaff' to have a game channel. I didn't mingle much but greatly enjoyed the conversations, the "EVE families", and the food. Nobody told me the bar was Belgian or I would've got the chocolate beer. Do not actively tank my patience. |

I got there a bit late for the drawing, which I blame it on the fact that google maps sent me to some crazy location and I had to backtrack after finding the proper address and inputting that instead of "Brick Store Pub", but in the limited time I had I met a few folks and had a great lunch at the Brick Store with my other family/friends that were in town. The book festival that was going on outside was an added bonus as well.
and did I mention delicious Belgian beer? Great, and I mean great, selection for quite reasonable prices... so yea, well done and thanks for doing the legwork. |
