Hey all
**** happens many ppl say! well it happened to me yesterday.
I was killing some rat in a 0.4 sector. I was having a hard time killing the rat, but I was gonna kill it eventually... All of a sudden a pirate pops out of nowhere - me having 0 shield and 1/2 armor on my destroyer - shoots two missiles and my ship blows up. Pods me right after.
Now I am not here to whine, since I knew it was risky going into 0.4 space, but why did he kill me like that? He killed me like a coward, when I was almost dead. Do pirates always behave this way? And did he get a reward for killing me? Cozz he wasn't asking for money either...

if my corp wants to kill him, how can they find him...?

it does not have to be moneydriven, but I do like to keep some money on my account, and getting popped by pirates is not exactly profitable :)

Or can't a pod me scrambled?... anywayz it said warping to stargate blabla, but it did nothing...

Do not care. Move upper into 0.5+ or monitor local channel most time
two of my corp mates did go to the place but couldn't find him, at least they got my stuff in some cans...
guess he was long gone...

Originally by: Luthair StoneDog Look.. I don't know where this thing about pirates being cowards comes from. It's stupidity. We're trying to make a living in the game.. with a certain amount of roleplaying (I say Yarr a bit.)
I attack battleships at gates, a couple of times I've been solo.. (sentries got me once.. :) Just because I also attack destroyers and cruisers doesn't make me a coward.
I didn't say all pirates were cowards, I'm just here for some information...

I personally make it a point to kill newer players as often as I can. It comes down to the fact that If I dont kill them they just dont ever learn to watch out for pirates and then I come back later and have to blow up there first cruiser or Battleship because they cant pay the ransom.
So look at It this way if you had not been blown up then you would have probly been blown up later in a larger more expensive ship.
no I wasn't there. you must have spotted another noob :)
btw great vision you have there... keep it up

well tnx...
realy I can't be bothered with the loss of my ship, I have enough money as it is... I just wanted to know why pirates kill :). I admit it's a stupid question, but I wanted to know what kind of profit there was in killing for them...
anywayz the destroyer was the toughest ship I could fly with my skills... think it will be easier to fly my stabber into 0.4 space? I've got the skills today... or will I just get killed again...? I mean at what point can I venture into unsecure space and have a chance at beating hostile ...

as I said I tried to warp, both with my ship and my pod, but it did not work and I was killed before anything happened...
and I am a new player so I realy don't know about these precautions you are talking about...

it reflects more on your arrogance to whine about being killed in low sercuity space. if you dont like it, DONT GO THERE.
Why would anyone in CS stare at you when he can shoot you? When has "why" ever appeared into a game that involves blowing others up?
You are the arrogant one for not reading my post and replying like this. I'm not whining, I just don't know what pirates get out of it... well I got my answers in this thread, but sure not because of you...
learn to read before you post dumb replies...

It is true some eat the food and take the money, it all comes down to a choice.
I would eat the money

2. They were too close to the gate when their ship got destroyed
3. they were war targets
This is one of the reasons you got podded if I was there.
don't see me paying 9M isk in stead of having you annihilate my destroyer :)... btw don't you adjust your ransom to the target? you'd make more money...
I don't thnk I would ever pay a ransom, unless it's realy low compared to a ship loss... for most people it's a pride thing I guess :p
