Hi,
I've just returned after a two-three year break.
Now, there's been enough said about the horrible state of alliance warfare, as far as sovereignty, supercaps etcetera are concerned. I'm not going to add to that, other then by 'just adding this comment on CCP's progress on this front in the last three years: you guys suck.
Now, one other thing that I noticed immediately. And even while it was to be expected, it still shocked me: there's ******* stations all over 0.0 these days! There's likely more systems WITH one then without one.
What do you suppose this does to 0.0 centric playstyles that do not include memebership of a 0.0 based large alliance corporation? The number of player owned base structures (pos, outposts) has scaled up way out of proportion to the playebase when compared to about four-five years ago. But in the same time the amount of NPC owned base structures usable by players has not scaled up at all.
How about either bringing back good old station pingpong, letting outposts be destroyed, or allowing outposts to be sold to NPC sov factions by a conquering alliances? |

but how about all the items inside the outposts, also the logged out players, clones etc where all that would go, would it/they just evaporate?
i would say no... |

What happens if you have your clone on ms/titan ? As for items on station, half of it go boom the rest should only be able to be picket up by an freiters. Anyway its beside the point, point is they should be able to be destroyed. |

it's not beside the point at all. If outposts can go boom, we'd need to know what happens to the stuff inside them, and I doubt CP really wants to discourage vets from resubbing by blowing up everything they own while they're unsubbed. |

i say its a good idea, who cares about the items in side this would act as a massive isk sink and if the players care so dearly about there items then they would rescue them to another nearby system |

I agree as far as, its too simple to just keep losing ships and reshipping in a system and when it comers to it leave with no threat to the supplies stranded.
honestly, in any REAL fight, there should be a point in time when you see the abtle is going bad and you gotta fall abck to cover the haulers evacuating supplies from your precious stations.
if your not willing to hold onto a system to the last bullet/ship then you better learn to not keep your stuff in outposts on the front lines. and if you DO leave your stuff there, im sure you didnt want that faction fit carrier anyways. |

Anyone who lives in sov null cares about them, and how exactly do you rescue your stuff if you're unsubbed, or if you happen to be busy for a couple of days when your outpost gets hit? What incentive is there to return if all your shiny toys died while you were away? |

Fair point with the items inside. Clones? Mwah, do what happens to jumpclones that are revoked: auto move to player corp HQ.
As far as i care the same happens with the items, altho i can understand that being too ****** up in terms of game lore and so on.
So, skip destruction.
Leaves: - pingpong (outpost conquerable fairly easily (50 man gang = 2 hrs, 100 man = 1hr, 200 man = 0.5 hr etc?), offices get closed, manufaturing jobs can be cancelled by conquering corp (mins lost), clones can be reset to empire etcetera etcetera) OR - outposts are hard to conquer (as now, maybe slightly more easily) but once conquered can be rented out to NPC faction corps, which means that tax income is changed into NPC faction rent (payable as a small % of the original cost in minerals). Flipsides: everyone can acces all services if standing to NPC faction > X.X. goods are remotely transferable to other stations of same faction for steep fee per m3 if station is in rented state. Station can be reverted to corp held for a fee equal to base value of station in minerals divided by the amount of months sovereignty in the system is held constantly from the date of change to NPC faction rented status. OR - debilitation, must be easy for it to have a limiting effect. Downside; doesnt halp non-alliance players one bit.
I like the last one, but that's cause i loub wallsoftexxxxxt! |

It's actually zero isk sink. And if stuff drop, not much material sink.
Put the stuff in blown up stations in some kind of impound. Make players pay large amount of isk to get them out. |

I would say yes. EVE was based on risk vs. reward. That said, very simple solution to all this: Make 0.0 profitable enough. You make it so ISK can be made, and they will come. If it's profitable enough, people will build those outposts. And alliances will kill them. Same reason as having a large POS ni a wormhole. It's profitable in the long run, but you've no idea wether that Pirate or merc alliance is gonna come in tomorrow and blow it too kingdom come. This can be countered with a proper emergency response, just like an attack on an outpost. So a fleet of dreadnaughts made for tanking and dealing DPS has launched an attack? Alright, several options:
1. RUN TOO THE HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLS! RUN FO YOUR LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVES! 2. Gather all valuable assets, and consider the outpost scrapped, still making hundreds of billions of ISK. 3. Blast the bloody tards back too their graves! This is your space, and you should HAVE too defend it like you should! |
