So why did you make your mugshot like it is?
Out of perversion? Compensation for your...uh...short comings? What?
Personally, I tried to go for something that would, hopefully, "blur" things slightly, making it unclear whether or not she was a diplomat, a pirate....etc.
That and I've always had a thing for the "sorrowful blue" type feeling. ^^;;

I just fooled around with the features on random.
When that was done I just "corrected" the more unrealistic facial features of my avatar. As soon as he looked reasonably human I stopped and here I am looking behind myself for some odd reason.

I have to admit, I did make mine out to be badass looking (shallow I know). I wish I'd chosen a better background now though, it makes him look even more "default pirate" looking.

I wanted my character to look differently from me, not that I'm a ugly jim, but I see my face every day and something different would be nice 
Also he is a scientist/geologist/industrialist so the fighter look was out of the question.
And finally I wanted him to look somewhat absent minded as that reflects my own personality....always thinking of my next project

On a sidenote my academic is getting his ass handed to him by npc pirates so he has begun an extensive combat training

Given that most caldari look like they are pushing out the most ginormous turd, l tried to make mine a little bit softer, and then intentionally tried to put a bit of camp smirking in for good measure.
And it ended looking like me.

The conflicting diagonals of my gaze and the clenched fist banner indicate...er...harmony and peace within all my thoughts. Priestly attire and ceremonial markings and haircut imply an open minded attitude to non-Amarrian faiths. Finally the orange glow lighting in no way implies a penchant for burning books, but rather is the warm glow of my noble heart.
Hopefully I have reinforced that with my friendly looking sig, although some have commented that my peaceful gaze and welcoming wave of an instrument of mercy imply otherwise. The calming colours should however reassure you that I have nothing but peace on my mind. The images of DNA fingerprinting and artificial insemination are purely coincidental.

I wanted to create a happy character, one that was actually smiling. I found this to be very difficult to do. Not only did I have to find the right combination of facial jaw and mouth adjustments to smile, I had to make the eyes smile. If your mouth smiles but your eyes do not, then your smile is disingenuous.
Unfortunately, I picked a haircut that a thousand other Intaki's already have. I would prefer to be unique, but I ended up looking like everyone else. And no, I don't look a thing like my avatar in real life.

My Character is a refelction of a Police Officer. I know of some very brave guys in my local, and chose to make my character with a badge looing thing on his shirt. The face is ment to look pretty conservitive.

Two things I tried to capture in the pic... 1) age (wanted to look older than most others) and 2) calmness (ie trustworthiness since I was gearing towards a trader/builder). The only thing though is the small pic in game makes me look like a chick. Hey, it DID look good when I was first making it.

I couldn't help but notice while in beta that you could make chicks with odango (meatballs) or hair buns. Once gold launched I had to make a character that looked like Tsukino Usagi (sailor moon). Of course doesn't look much like her, but she's still cute :)
I expect this av to take a day or so to load as well.

I wanted something that looked similar to me, as much as an intaki could be (look more like a caldari in RL). The look was planned to suggest intellegence and mystery.
Character is specialized in manufacturing and science... seems fitting to me.

He's supposed to be a priest whos annoyed at how things are going with the whole Amarrian peace policy. And also trying to form a movement to overthrow the Amarrian government as it stands and implement the Reclaiming once more.

I was trying to make someone that actually looked normal. But I still needed to look tough while keeping that sense of friendliness. Also, very confident looking. The blue light background gives a much more inviting look than something say... like skulls.
Of course, it's a wonder how it didn't end up looking like a devil after having to redo the face 11 times until EVE finally decided not to drop my connection before finishing all the steps.

I originally wanted my char to look like the guy from Home Improvement, who was in the movie where he was a tv starship captain.
When real aliens came to Earth after watching his shows and thought it was real life and took him to a real starship which was created after his tv one.
In the end, he defeated the evil alien with his superior intellect by dragging mines behind him with a tractor beam and destroyed their ship.
But he ended up looking suave and calculating with an intensity and intellect befitting a serious opponent.
Plus with this certain race he was able to startup wither a much higher intelligence atribute score (he is 17 going on 18) than the other neanderthal looking types.
(Brain over brawn is needed to captain a ship)

This is my ALT char...inspired by the character from the Shannara Books. (He only appeared in one ...I know)
Unfortunately he had to be amarr to get the cloak etc and he looks a bit old...
great books by the way and elfstones is the greatest IMO.

I kinda wanted to be a power hungry maniac.. maybe hint of mad scientist in there for good measure...
I'd like think I've also got a 'Yul Brenner from Westworld' thang going on here as well ..

Had to get the lighting just right to get the perfect shine on me bold head ;)
The fist in the background just adds to the POWER monger image.
now, if only I was as FEARSOME as the 'Gun Slinger', my image would be complete...

I wanted him to look friendly and self-confident, with a slightly arrogant and ironic facial expression.
And no fancy stuff like tattoos, weird hair or anything.
edit: though you really need to see the full-size portrait for that :-/

Err, I don't know. I spent too much time playing around with the character creation tools and so decided I'd best come up with something quick or I'd be there all day. I went for the strong, but silent type. He's pondering the ways of the universe, and how to get into Lord Zap's panties (yep, he wears stockings too).
I'm actually beauitful, its just the lighting is hitting me wrong.

this character that I am posting from and this were both motivated by my idol, kwai.
the old screen is my favorite char avatar ever. it was in a gamer magazine somewhere i was told, and was one of the screenies released in the first of the dev diaries back in january.

I wanted to capture the image of an Amarr traditionalist noble (Holder) without getting too fancy about it.
In the end it turned out quite well, with a somewhat militant look coupled by the semi-religious background.

I'm down with Ezri on the haughty, arrogant Amarrian female front.
I envisaged Liscia to almost be a pathological Amarrian 'Religious Reclaimer', with a black and white, almost monomaniac view on the genetic superiority of Amarrians within the EVE universe. Glaciar cold, sociopathic with no need for petty emotional dependencies or warm, fuzzy liberalist philosophies.
She strives for the greater glory for the Amarrian Empire, and the forthcoming 'Reclaimation' when the Gallante and Minmatar infidels shall twist and burn in agony on the pyres of humanity.
It fits with my personality because I always had to play Princess Leia in SW. Me? Bossy? If the other damn kids just done EXACTLY as I told them then there would be no need for their crying ...

P.s. I like to semi-RP female characters. It's just a kink of mine. All to do with an Oasis lyric:
