heres my setup which i use for ratting in 0.0 atm:
7x Mega Pulse I's 100mn AB, 2x Cap Recharger I's 3x Heat Sink II's, Large 'Accomodation' Vestment Reconstructor, Kin + Therm Hardeners (active), 2x CPR I's
i used to have tracking comps instead of the cap chargers in the mid slots, but swaped them out for the extra gun. i only have advanced weapon upgrades 2 atm so cant take them out again just yet :(
could anyone suggest how i can improve this setup for ratting or addapt it for PVP? i would like to start using it for alliance defence fleets soon instead of my rax :-p

are u npcing guristas or serpentis? guritas is long range so dual heavy beams should do a lot better vs them. drop the ab for a tracking comp then.

Edited by: El''Ran on 03/07/2006 12:04:45 im actually fighting sansha npcs with the setup i posted above.
heres the setup i thought of for pvp:
Hi slots: 6(possibly 7) Mega Pulse I(cant use t2 yet)
Med slots: AB, 2 Cap Chargers
Low slots: 3x HSII, 2x Tracking Enhancer I, 2x Active Hardeners(until i can fit EANM II's), Large Armor Rep
im not sure how well this will hold up since ive never flown a geddon in PVP, it will be used as part of a fleet. any suggestions on how to improve it are more than welcome

geddon ftw indeed.
ive used setups similar to these in the past, but ive just fitted an ecm in a midslot, and seems to prove vastly more useful than most other modules. ecm is too overpowered. use it while you can before its changed (which i approve of btw).
Is this you perhaps? |

Usual fleets these days are uber long range. It would mean a set up for you including 7xTachs 2xsensor booster II 1x tracking computer II 3xhsII 1xtracking enhancer II and the rest to fit and a little "time to warp" tank... Probably you would be unable to shoot at all without tech II lasers and long range ammo though...
Ask your m8s. If thats the sort of fleet they are fielding use a Retribution for close range anti-frig support (or an Omen) or aninty as tackler ...
If they are a close - medium range fleet then pulses or megabeams will be ok and you can take your geddon. Fleet set ups are however different than solo.
7xMegapulse 3xHSIIs some tank some cpr will be your lows and highs. In the mids (depending on tackling and EW configs) you can use a selection of 3 of the following: web, 20km scram, ab/mwd (some fleets use this to counter dictors), ECCM, ECM, sendor dampener, tracking diruptor, sensor boosters, cap injector (this is good because it means you need no cprs in lows and can have 3HS and a 4 slot tank).
Never use cap in mids in actual group pvp.
Main Tip: Your FC or m8s who fly with this fleet often should be able to give you valuable info on what to use BEFORE you undock.

Here is my Drone and Tachyons Snipe setup. It works well on missions and you could adapt it for ganks. Use T2 Tachs for mega range for the lasers.
HI: 5 Tachyons, 3x Drone Link Augmentators
Mid: 2x Sensor Boosters, Tracking Comp
Low: Med T2 Rep, 2x Cap Power Relay, 2x Heatsink T2x, 3x Tracking Enhancer T2s
Your Tachyon with Radio Crystals should be between 115 - 120km. You can control drones from 110 - 120km with the links. This is good for either throwing drones out to kill someone or to use sentries. It's worked pretty well on missions and is an affordable alternative to the sniper Tempest. It's large Drone Bay gives you more room to play around with as well.

Ive taken this setup into close range and got wrecking for 1500 at around 20k. average 400-600 per hit with Gleam and 300-500 per hit with aurora.

hi: 7 dual heavy modulated pulses, 1 heavy diminishing nos
mid: 1 cap booster (800s), 1 Fleeting webber, 1 sensor booster (named for fittings sake)
low: 1 LAR II, 3 EANM IIs, 1 Energized explosive membrane II (comp skills all at 4). 2 HS II, 1 1600 mm rolled tungsten
drones: berserker Is (till I get t2 that is, when I will rule the galaxy!)
I get 79% em, 72% explosive, 62% kin, and 66% thermal and 10000 or armor hp, I like the tank on this, I have tanked an ishtar, zealot, and apoc for 5 minutes till my cap charges ran out (damn tracking disrupters they had ), and the dps is about 800, need to get t2 though but for a t1/t2 fusion setup I think it works prett well.

What ranges are we really looking at with T2 Pulses vs T2 beams? Just finished up Large Energy to 5 and want to decide which one to go with. _________________________

This setup was great for RMR but just got gimped in Kali...so do not think it will still be viable in a month. I would train your large puse spec 5 first...with the 50% HP boost of Kali and the Gleam nerf, this 7x Tach II setup isn't going to be too hot.
It's great being Amarr isn't it.

And the optimal with scorch is around 50km, not ingame and i can't remember it exactly.

Over 15k armor hp's roughly 60% resists all round (higher em) and reps 128hp/s. It will run everything aslong as you have charges (assuming u arent being nos'd) and pulls about 500-600dps (maybe more depending on skills and imps)
IMO this is the best solo geddon pvp setup.

Edited by: Alowishus on 14/11/2006 22:17:13 In my opinion any "best solo setup" better have either EW or something to counter EW. Not knocking your setup, it seems a solid tank, however to claim it's the "best" doesn't make sense with the current state of EW. The moderators here are excellent at policing signatures. |

yeah but tbh u find me a good ew setup for a geddon. I know what you are saying but 3 midslots doesnt scream ew rig. This would beat a casual ew setup imo, a cyclone with 1 ecm for instance, im not saying it would beat a dedicted ew boat tho, not alot can.
