Hi
As a regular trader in various desirable products it woud be really helpful to be able to lock the final destination of a route and then be able to optimise the jumps in between.
For example I have to collect minerals from a number of stations, but I am always taking them to Jita. Sometimes optimising puts Jita in the middle of my route. Moving it to the end again can mean the route is no longer optimised.
Would CCP consider adding this as a feature on the autopiloting system?

Are you talking about some automated jump route optimization feature that kicks in after every jump/gate transition? There's nothing a million chinese guys can't do cheaper.

@Debora: He's talking about making a route with multiple waypoints to pick stuff up, with one locked destination for the lot. The current optimise route system will usually stick your final destination right in the middle of such a route, which is less than helpful. |

Support. This would be very handy. I often do round-trips to pick up stuff. Needless to say, if i specify my final destination (the station I'm currently at) the optimise route will not put it at the end.
If done, perhaps 'add waypoint' should add the intermediate stops and 'set destination' specify the final destination, rather than replacing the entire route as it does at the moment. |

Actually since I posted this the way contracts and missions do courier information could work.
Add pickup waypoint [whatever number of these you have] Set delivery destination
When you optimise the route it recognises you want to do all the pickups before the delivery

Makes me shake my fist at my route plan every time I get it wrong. Good call OP and a very solid +1 from me.
This would be a lovely little QoL addition but (@CCP) if you do add it add it as an OPTION for people to enable and not a mandatory thing.
Perhaps "Set Destination" > Right Click "Final Destination" in "Route Plan" > Click "Lock Final Waypoint" > Add more waypoints to optimise in-between 1st and final waypoint.

Unfortunately CCP once stated that they do not listen to like flags.
Otherwise that guy with the "My friend needs new clothes" Thread (has several hundred like on just one single post) would be the main atraction for the upcoming expansion (tho I'd still support that, it's just plain epic). There's nothing a million chinese guys can't do cheaper.

I'd like that too. You can always just remove the final destination, then clock "optimize", and then re-add the final destination, but it would be much more convenient to be able to do it the way the OP suggests. I've wanted that feature too, for quite a while. |

Actually they're not as tiny as you would think, tried and tested and speaking from experience. I'm guessing you (Cade Windstalker) don't experience this issue\use long routes across many systems\destinations by the way you wrote your reply. Tevez I would like to humbly request an addition to this. From the assets window, selection checkboxes for the stations in region which exports and optimizes the route. Criss-crossing the same system(s) multiple times to pick up items for the entire region tends to be a massive time sink. Some form of route optimization/efficiency is needed to reduce time required to clear a region of goods.
Please consider implementing Tevez Machina's idea, but allow players to choose efficiency in the route planning process. And I mean add efficiency by give players the shortest route to visit each station in the route, including waypoints and final destinations. |

Sounds like an ability to click an autopilot-waypoints box (top left corner) and set it as "end point".
This may sounds really easy . . but the ccp crew . . when it tries to impliment a simple feature it "theoretically" has to take amphetamins and vodka then re invent the wheel 10 times . . so . . im gona gve u a +1.
