I was inactive for the first month or so that Odyssey was inactive so I had a lot to take in when I came back. This is particularly true because I get most of my income from scanning in hisec. I was rather surprised about grav sites being relegated to anomalies. It was disheartening to see that you no longer needed to scan any of them.
Previously, the high end grav sites were the most difficult signatures I found in hisec. Since the changes, I don't even use a ship with scanning bonuses because I don't need it for what I do. I don't feel the ore sites give enough profit if they're all full of barges with an orca floating around.
My idea is rather simple. Divide the ore sites the same way combat sites are, with the lower level ones showing as anomalies but offering better rewards for people willing to put in the time to scan down the better sites. They could even reinstate some of the old signal strengths, requiring people to use scanning ships to find them with any efficiency.
Any constructive feedback will be welcome.

I still think that this could be a great idea nonetheless. It should be more difficult and more rewarding to find the best ore sites. Being able to just warp into them right after undocking or switching systems, seems to be a bit lacking.
Having some special "need to be scanned down" orefields would be nice. Also always loved the little bit of "safety" those used to give you as well.

I don't really see an issue, there have certainly been enough complaints about the removal of probes-required ore sites and this would add a decent balance between newbie friendly ore sites and pleasing the higher up players. |

maybe they could just add a kind of "gold nugget" site that is difficult enough to find, rare enough to be excited about, and contains higher end ores not normally found in the system security level (and if in -1.0 it would just have a really large amount of rare ores.
Kind of like having a gold rush to a certain system if the secret gets out. ore a personal treasure if protected well enough. |

In another year, you probably won't need probes at all for sites, and the only probes used will be combat ones. In another 2 years, you probably won't need combat probes either, and dscan will just show you everything you need.
With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.
