I'm a ventrilo user, I hate the quality of Teamspeak but i'll drop by and say hi! :)
Dude, i've been a server admin of TS2 and Vent servers for a few years now and I hope your ready if your service gets populair, you will be paying ALOT lol.

I actually like ventrillo better than teamspeak as well, for reasons of quality. However the ventrillo sales staff won't return my emails, not will they post signup/price info on their site. I would like to know how you got in touch with them if you don't mind. I've basically said in the emails, "look, I want to give you guys money, please respond". no response.
And you're right, being an authorized, licensed provider can be very expensive. I hope to supplement that with private teamspeak (possibly ventrillo) server sales, and web hosting sales. If it just gets to overwhelming, I'll either ask for donations or will have to keep the server limit down. Or, as others have mentioned in this thread, see about the possiblity of just running a free server (and what my limits are there).

Team speak is not bad but due to the codecÆs it uses its not as clear or as good quality as ventrilo servers. Something like this is always a good idea but very rarely works in practice. With the ease of setting up servers now a lot of people will opt to set up for there own corporation so they can speak in private.

BTW I'm usually on (in central time) all hours, what times do you all get on as well
(kinda a 2fer a bump and a somewhat lame question i used to keep thread alive)

hey man whatever works to keep the thread alive.
I think people should think of this server as a tool. Since it will take a very long time to develop it as a community (it may never even be that way).
next time you're in 0.0, see a hostile and a few friendlies, hop on this server if you know of no other ones - or if your friendlies aren't allowed on the other ones.
you can also create private channels on this server, just not register them. To do so, right click and hit "Create channel". you can even set a password to lock people in and out of the channel. just understand that as soon as the last person leaves the channel, the channel is no more.

Excellent service run by a cool dude.
The idea of a regional voice chat channel is a very good one. We should support this server as it is admirable that he supplies this free of charge.
Our Corp now uses this as our chat channel and resigned hectic typing to a thing of the past.
