I seriously need help with this. All I got was smart ass answer in help which is very saddening. Seems like people would prefer new players to quit then ask for guidance. Hoping for better results here.
In my current mission I warp in and I am instantly hit with 2 tracking disruptors. I have tracking links, tracking computer with script and mods helping me but I still cannot counter. My drones take way to long and I cannot come back in a long range battle ship as when warping from the gate you are instantly amongst them and I cannot out run the tracking ships. It seems stupidly overpowered and it;s only a level 2 which is very disheartening to me.
How the heck do I overcome these disruptors ? |

i do not recall any level 2 mission with heavy tracking disruption but maybe i just never ran any... seeing as how it's a lvl2, you probably do not need too much damage, so light missiles might be a good option. train for a corax, talwar or better yet a caracal with rapid LMLs and ignore tracking disruption altogether.

To beat up tracking disruption, reduce transversal if you're disrupted on tracking speed, or get closer if you're disrupted on range. Otherwise, use a missile boat. If you try to kill off the NPC in the mission named "Recon", just forget it and burn to the acceleration gates, this set of missions has really buffed NPC and you're better off just blitzing it. As mentioned, if it is Recon 1/3 you're not supposed to fight at all. In case some time has lapsed the entire opposing fleet will have spawned, making it tough to get to the gate without getting blow up. You might want to wait for a downtime, which resets the mission.
Besides drones and missiles, which are immune to tracking disruption, you can also simply fleet up with someone else to run the missions that involve heavy tracking disruption. It is very unlikely that both of you get disrupted at the same time.
Last but not least you can move to somewhere else where you have to fight pirates that tracking disrupt way less often. Sensor dampening or sensor jamming isn't exactly fun either tho.
Also you mentioned tracking links. Be aware that tracking links are modules you direct to someone else's ship to aid their tracking. Putting them onto your ship won't help yourself at all. |

A dual repairer Dominix worked fine for the Angel Cartel variant. Then again nowadays the drone hating aggression mechanics might make it quite interesting getting them blown up.

I did the Serpentis version very recently in a Gila, like within the past month, and my drones took no aggro at all. All the rats continued to beat on me the whole time.

To the OP: if you really want to do that mission, your best bet is a drone or missile boat. OR run away from them until you are out of range of their disruptors (~ 65km) - and then have guns that can hit from that distance. |

I'd recommend training for a Drone ship or a Missile ship.
The Corax, Algos, Talwar are 3 good missioning ships as well. They have a strong tank and high DPS. What I do to counter tracking disruptor is using missile ships so I don't have the issue. And yeah some people don't really like newbies in EVE I can find, welcome to EVE however and us in the New Citizens Q&A have people to answer questions regularly. |

At this time, missiles are immune to tracking disruption (although I think I read they are considering changing this), so you could switch to missiles for missions where you know the rats use TD.
If you insist on sticking with guns, what I've noticed helps with turrets is using longer range ammo than you normally would for your actual range. Of course, improving your gunnery supprt skills will reduce the effectiveness of TD. |

Not really. It takes a while though.
- Use long range ammo (preferably something without tracking penalty) - Get to close range and set keep at range to something that will keep you at optimal (lasers) or ~50% falloff (hybrids/projectiles) - If you have tracking computer, use optimal range script - If you have stasis webifier, use it! |

This might work because it can reduce the transversal to zero.
When there are more than two disruptors, you pretty much have to reduce transveral to zero, as anything else is pointless. E.g. in the Sansha Blockade (lvl 2), the third wave has four Centii Loyal Slavehunter - if all four of them disrupt you, your range and your tracking will be reduced to one tenth of the original value. Even a very small transversal will be too much for the little tracking that you have left.
However, if you get too close to an NPC, it will fly away from you to get back to its preferred distance. If you keep following it (matching its speed), you can abuse that to trick it into flying away from you in a straight line, which reduces transversal to zero and allows you to hit it. This can be done by setting a small "keep at range" value (as Tobias suggested), although I prefer manual piloting. But it takes a while to get into that position and all the long you'll be in the middle of the NPCs, taking damage from all of them, so you need a really good tank for that.
An easier option is to stay outside of their disruption range (which is ~65km).
Finally, there is also the "hit and run" option - as they take a bit to target and disrupt you, you should have the time to kill or at least damage one of them before you get disrupted. As soon as you get disrupted, warp out, then warp back in and repeat. But that is really tedious, so I'd only recommend it as a last resort. |
