Pre RMR I used to equip 4 heavies (22 damage each) and 4 med drones (9 damages points each). Now after the patch, the raven drone bay can only carry 3 heavies or 7 medium drones. I am only skilled to use 5 drones max.
My raven is normally equipped with torps so I use the drones on the frigs.
So question is which is better 3 heavies or 5 medium. The maths show that the 3 heavies do more damage but in real gameworld I feel that the 5 med perform better. A mate disagrees with me. What do you think 5med or 3 heavy

Personaly I use 5 T2 thermal medium drones and 5 T2 light thermal drones.
The Medium ones will kill any frigate and cruiser as fast as my 6 heavys used to do in pre-RMR. The light ones I use against Kyos (for some reason they seem to work better than mediums).
If I am flying with a corp member (he shield tanks), I load 5 Medium T2s and 5 light shield transfer drones. The extra 72 shield boost every 5 secs helps him alot, and once I have the drones set on him, I can unlock him and lock a rat.
I do have drone interface to level 3 (working on level 4 now) and combat drone operations to level 3 as well.

I suggest using some of the new modified drones. The webber drones etc will do you so much more good than adding a little damage. Remember that targets faster than your missile's explosion velocity will reduce the damage dealt so this will increase your damage on those targets significantly.

I'm using now 4 medium (Vespa) + 1 Heavy (Wasp) and 1 extra Vespa sitting in my drone bay... But tomorrow i'll be able to use Vespa II, and than i'll study drone Interfaicing lvl 5 and i'll be done with Drones skill atm... I don't need lvl 5 Heavy Drones Operation? cause even now 4 mediums working fine to me for frig's wich is very important, all rest ship's i can manage by T2 kinetic torp's. And one more thing, those 4+1 drones finished with Angel BS earlier than i finished with all centryes at 3-d stage during Angel Extravaganza lvl 4. Is that enought?

I also use 5 T2 medium and 5 T2 light drones. For the really fast small warp scramblers the lights work best. For cruisers and tougher frigs the mediums work well. ATM I'm only using Caldari drones (the spec skill was cheaper :p) also as I mostly only fight Guristas, but I'll probably get around to snagging Gallente drone spec and some Hammerhead and Hobgoblin IIs.

I got 12 more days before I complete Drone Interfacing Skills to 5 then I can do Advance Drone interface to lvl 2 which with Drones Skills lvl 5 will allow me to use 7 med drones at a time.
That is the max a Raven can carry. If I train Advance Drone interface to lvl 4 I will be able to use 9 drones at a time and I will try out those light drones. I will stop refining the light drones I find since one or two of you recommend them. I never used to use them. thanks for the tip

As a Raven player I thought as much : if I use drones to web inties, I can spank them with torpedoes.
What I'm wondering, though, is this : will my drones get splash damage from the explosions of my own torps ?

another option is the target painter drone, which will give you ore damage per missile.
PvPing, though, is where I would consider the EW drones. Damage drones when ratting.
