I've only had a brief read, seen as how I'm not at home. thought i'd give a bit of input though, if you dont have it already.
When I used to have a deathstar, you could convo some poor local, then drop it in mid convo, like it kicked you. After this you can then send a gang invite, which the dude will usually glance at and assume it is an invite for the continuation of the convo.
Guess what you do when he's in your gang

The mods seem to have misunderstood and posted this in the pirate resource as a pos removal guide...

Great guide.
I want to echo the guy who mentioned putting it in .pdf or a different format, though. The .doc format is one of the ones capable of carrying a Microsoft Word viral payload (macro virus), and so I fear that the paranoid (and how paranoid should one be about files in dangerous formats uploaded by notorious pirates?) might shrink from ever reading the document.
Me, I gave it a moment's thought and decided that Lanfear's Bane was far too famous and proud a nic to be associated with lame hack attempts, and read it anyway (after taking normal precautions of course, dobovai no probovai).
I even have one tiny suggestion for improvement. As somebody who salvages a lot of stuff floating around stargates, I can state with authority that a dropped can with shipwreck goods is much less plausible these days than it was in the pre-wreck era. Might your bookmark trick work better if you take a shuttle or frigate to the gate with your bookmark (in several copies) and a few cheap items in the hold? Mark finds the bookmark in a wreck, he'll be much less suspicious of it.
I dunno why I'm sharing this idea, the person it will kill someday will, with my luck, be ME. ------------------ Ironfleet.com Proposal: Automated Ore Return Vehicles |

Thanks for the comments guys. Unfortunately due to warp to zero being in place now travel time in systems is now very, very small in comparison to Pre-Rev. This makes pos-ganking increasingly difficult as you just don't have the window of opportunity anymore. Makes the guide rather out of date but still a good introduction I suppose.
Pre-Rev I did have one last go at it to rake in a few florins and found that the most effective strategy was 'OMG! I'm a noob! Can you help me finish my mission!' (when you take into account opening banter such as 'actually I am in a hauler - change to the cans story') very effective.
Neal your best bet would be floating your alt at the pos and claiming 'OMG! Neal Cassady is atacking my <insert hauler>, he's only in a Rifter, can you help meh?! I can thank him but I can't escape!' and then flesh the tale out with minor details.
