... that being different from current warp bubbles how? o.O;
(if you have enough time to place your own forces in place where they can drop spheres to trap people so far from the gate you also have time to anchor the bubble(s)...
The probe is basically fire and forget with no anchoring time.
It will only take the interdictor a few seconds to get to range even from the gate (roughly 3000 speed with a good MWD).
Use it when you need it, nothing is lost if you have to bug out.
I'm in the process of running a few live tests, but somehow even with it's current sig radius I don't think these things are going to be all that easy to hit (or damage) with turrets or missiles, unless webbed. Granted, an inty can eventually run one down... but it will have to survive the heavy fire coming from the Interdictor before it can web/warp jam it.
I seriously want to know if the Probes area of effect is a radius of 20K, or a diameter of 20K.

Well the launcher BPO is tech 1 and ingame, the probes to launch dont seem to be ingame yet.
Quite tough training requirements for the launchers and interdictor also...

"I seriously want to know if the Probes area of effect is a radius of 20K, or a diameter of 20K."
Well, the attribute on probes is named the same it is on the anchorable bubbles, so possibly it's the diameter... what i wonder about though is, how much these spheres will cost. Medium bubble which is possibly smaller costs ~15 mil. Suppose a sphere costs ~15-20 mil a piece... then picture losing your 50 mil interdictor *and* ~10 spheres in the cargo.. ouch. Money sink of epic proportions. o.x
(logically they should be cheaper since they aren't reusable, but then again logic seems to rarely affect these things ;s

Yeah, if they cost that much (hugely unlikely) it's a whole different ballgame. However, as pointed out by someone else there's a massive difference between a throwaway probe and an expensive bubble which takes 60 seconds to be set up. You don't have 60 seconds to catch someone passing through the system. On the other hand, an interdictor can throw up a bubble after the fleet has entered warp, at which point it's totally impossible for the warping fleet to avoid it.

well, I imagine CCP wont break with current policy and they will like the other scan probes be continously seeded in mpc market, if it follows the base price then we can expect to pay 23k isk per probe.
regarding the range, the same attribute is used by normal anchorable warp disruption fields and this is a diameter. Yes you are right, with only 240hp and at lvl 4, ability to launch one aprox every 2 1/2 minutes, it is very likely any probes will be primaried by support craft easily, leaving the interdictors presence void until the two minutes have passed and most likely open to gankage from a fleets support craft with things like precision cruise which will hit for full damage practically (mwd dependant)
