Edited by: Lilith Veco on 06/01/2006 01:36:49 is there any way to increase or track officer spawns in 0.0 i mean one day you can be ratting for 10-12 hrs and find none but one day you log on and there are 3 in a belt .
or am i asking a silly question and its totally random.

Here is a little tip for you to try. Go through all the belts and kill everything you see. Then that means that the belts are then empty to spawn again with npc's, maybe you might be lucky, keep doing this and you just never know. Pick cans up also, you never know what lies in them,
Good luck I wish you all the very best

I am out in 0.0 for around 15 months and yet have to encounter my first officer spawn.
I allways try to clean out all the belts and avoid system where people are mining (tanking spawns) if i have enough time to hunt.
Sure i heard a lot of people who found one so they do exist

Cleaned up all the belts in a system for 2 months in a row allong with some friends. One guy had 3 true sanshas spawns in those 2 months all in one week, I had one officer spawn and one mineral escort spawn (yes 25k zydrine was a nice find) during those two months.
A friend off mine plays for 2 years now and recently had his first officer spawn. There is no way to predict them, you should try and get lucky. Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

Officer Spawns are usually in systems extreamly low sec status.
Haning about in 0.0 is not enough. Head closer to -1.0 and they become more regular. You should find one about every 6 hours or so ratting if you are ratting in the correct security status systems. ------------ Criminal EVE Guides Evil Genius 101 Guide |

Hmm. Yes & No. The lower the true sec of a system, the better - yes. You find better NPC's (more BS's) and more high-end ore. That is fact. However I spent a week straight in a -0.9005 (lowest in Scalding Pass, and has 12 belts) and saw 0. I tried chaining spawns, clearing belts, logging on imemditately after DT to get it goin...nothing.
Yet, i've personally witnessed 2 officers in HLW-HP, supposedly only a -0.0227 with only a handful of belts (btw, i love my Tobias Modified web. ); and one in 0-6VZ5, a -0.499. The one in HLW was stumbled upon via scanner...wasnt even trying to provoke anything.
They seem to do a pretty good job of "randomizing" it in my experience.

I think that pirate npc sov system have a higher chance of spawning officers vs. normal 00 belts.

I frequently see security ratings of below 0.0 listed, is there a website out there where the true, hidden security status of a 0.0 system is listed? If so, would someone be kind enough to link it? |
