Originally by: Atlane Moon When someone steals my ore can he gets flagged to me. Thats ok!. But than thieves usually transfer ore into another can. So now i have no chance to get ore back which was mine since i get flagged asap.
This is an absolutely nonsense!!!!
Will this be fixed? Would the current system allow this? I think no, since the new can from thief belongs to him and system does not track this!
What do you think?
haha carebears wanted this and all they do is complain now!! will they ever be happy?

Aside from the obvious problems that applying ownership to items would bring about in terms of simply in our interactions with others, it's simply not efficient. My hangars are almost all overflowing with useless crap, I'm a total packrat, so I'm totally used to hangar lag. People still complain about it with 1/20th of the **** I have. Think about if every single item in there also had an owner attribute. Simply opening up your ship cargo would take forever. And what happens whan I do a stack all? Is the database supposed to remember that the single stack of veldespar I have is actually two stacks owned by different people?
So yeah, flagging items would be more of a hassle and only generate more problems for the developers to have to work out. Not worth it for something so pointless. Corporations run the EVE universe, and the strong prevail.

Originally by: Savatage CMA The new system is just as bad as before. It now lends itself to pirates killing miners. Simple take the ore in your little frigate transfer to your can. Once the miner shoots you or takes it back then you have 15 minutes to goto station get your BS and go pop the miner and anyone else who shoot at you and Concord will let you kill them.
Good Times.

The truth is that player interactions/thievery/entrapment/etc will always offer more variety than AI interactions. This is why the EVE universe requires the possibility of these things. Imagine the boredom if all you ever did was autopilot to and from a mining field with NO interuption, NO danger, NO possibility of anything else but collecting ore, selling it, and watch your wallet value climb.
No, the possibility of hijack etc adds to the effort, makes it interesting. This game would be dull as watching paint dry if mining was the equivalent of putting your money in the bank.
Interesting to note that no one seems to think that mining gangs should be done. I've always assumed that to effectively mine in low sec you don't mine alone -- you bring someone along with a big stick to threaten off any would-be thieves... heck, you should be doing this in high sec space too, since that's where the opportunistic thievery comes in...

Exactly. This is the main reason a lot of people are playing this game including me.
Ultima Online used to have this philosophy, until they added the "Carebear" land. People left in droves after this, including me after playing for 4 years.

I knew when ccp were going to introduce can flagging they would add an evil twist to it. Just accept it, just because you can attack the thief dont mean you shouldnt take precautions like you would of pre-rmr.

Just because you can attack a thief doesn't mean you can destroy it.
Just because I attack a miner doesn't mean it won't get away.

so what exactly changed this tuesday with taking cans? If they are just cargo cans, dont the same rules apply--you are flagged by the owner/corp for 15 min? I started recently and am not sure what changed, thanks

/Roger on how Eve is really where MMO should have went after Ultima Online became the haven of the weak on botched.
CCP is like many of its best ancestor companies (ie Westwood [C&C creators]; or Mindscape [X-Com series]) and contemporaries (ie Rockstar [GTA series])in that its a small company with people who created a game for intelligent gamers. Gamers who understand "adapt and thrive."
When the whiners start taking hold of a game, the game dies. Look at said ancient MMO above or SWG, the latest MMO to suffer from the uber-virus of carebear/non-stop whiner
/applause to CCP for allowing the current system. Like everything good in life, the system is both good and bad.
and a big /SPIT on those whiny little people who can't make even virtual friends enough to get a secure mining operation together. Solo players have no right to complain about the their lot. This is a Multi-player game. As in you play with others. If all you want to do is play a game and not have to bother with others, play sim-lemonade stand or something.

yep anyone who complains now that you can have your cake and eat it too should be shot out of hand, or podded at least.
-I don't necessarily agree with everything I say.-
