I usually start eve with exefile as having to start a program in order to start another program is the height of irritation to me. That said with today being patch day I used the launcher so it could patch (otherwise the client freaks out and makes you download pointless data).
The patch downloaded as one would expect, but for the last 20 minutes or so it has frozen, and is not installing the patch it just downloaded.

So, whats the deal? If I restart the launcher will it try to redownload, or will it recognise it has the files and simply try to install? I do have limits on my data usage so redownloading around 1gb of data is gonna be a serious kick in the teeth. |

Same for me, i have a limit also and this is the 5th time im trying it, gets stuck exactly the same at 0% 3/4.......... |

Same for me. I'm on my third attempt now. Patch downloads then it get stuck at applying patch 0% for up to 30 minutes before I close it and try again.

Just gave this a try. Signed in, it didn't do anything; closed the launcher, restarted it, signed in again first thing, and it started patching properly. You others may want to try signing in, too, if you haven't. (HOORAY LAUNCHER.)

Tried that, restarted client, signed in.
It's now downloading everything all over again... bye bye bandwidth... (approx 5 days of playing eve per update)
It gets one more go then i'm done for the month, else ill be eating into bandwidth I need for emails and other important things for the next 3 weeks.
Today I am a sad panda. |

I can confirm that this is happening to me aswell, PLEASE HELP US! EVE is like ******* you just cant get enought of it? and when stuff like this happens, a lot of rl **** starts to happen, hell i might go fight outside with the neightbor for no reason( just because i am mad @ CCP) |

I can confirm logging in as soon as the launcher opens fixes the issue. Multiple machines. Also used my laptop to test this theory. |

4th time downloaded. This is getting out of hand. There is only so many times you can download this big file on a 1024Kb/sDown // 256Kb/s Up internet line.
Trying to do the logging in trick via launcher just produces an error.

Failed again.
I am very disappointed scanning the forums at the total lack of acknowledgement of this problem, mentioned on twitter, facebook and eve forums.
Tried 3 times, thats all the bandwidth I can afford to waste. So, thanks again, until next months limit that's 3 accounts I can't play. Of course as I can't play them I won't be able to pay their plexes so they will expire...
Nothing like wasting 3 month subs and half a months bandwidth without any acknowledgement of a fault to put you off altogether... |

It could be helpfull for someone
I'm stuck at 2/4 and tried following:
1. Close launcher
2. Run exe.exe file from client bin directory. It will download additional 6mb of some patch and will close
3. Small patch will been applied and launcher will be started
4. In my case this time launcher applied the big patch without any problems

I am stuck at 3/4 in the launcher update, i restarted the pc, launche the eve.exe and it detected that the patch was already downloaded, it then closes and goes to the eve online update setup window wich then it starts to download a 1mb file but then it get stuck at 2% and does nothing else. Please i despertly need to finish this process i been trying for the past 4 hours and to my surprise no word from the game developers or masters. |

This happened to me once, relaunched through steam, redownloaded patch and worked. BTW have anyone tried using the update exe itself rather than downloading patch again? |

Actually worked for me, thanks a lot! Eve.exe btw not exe.exe if anyone couldn't figure that out on their own. |
