are you kidding?
what about this year's rage, paranoia and mistrust expansion?
The American public's reaction to the change was poor and the new cola was a major marketing failure. The subsequent reintroduction of Coke's original formula, re-branded as "Coca-Cola Classic", resulted in a significant gain in sales, leading to speculation that the introduction of the New Coke formula was just a marketing ploy |

Probably a worrying time for CCP, BF3 has been realeased the other day, 11/11/2011 will see Skyrim released and the 20th dec iirc will see the release of SWTOR.
So they're trying to tie people into the game, which is why the 2 for one deal for 6 months is a reasonable offer. |

Angry is such a strong word I am only looking for a "thank you for sticking with us" I just think CCP should reward loyalty We are currently looking at plans to do just that and loyalty should be rewarded. We are developing a working process and getting people involved who can get this into motion. Once we have more details we will be talking to you about it

Pff, that's about 1 1/2 days worth of skills-points. I can't see anyone getting too excited over that. Not that I can come up with anything decent myself now, mind you. |

I don't see the point.
Eve already is very unique in a way that you increase your accounts worth constantly and uncapped, in way that a new account can never catch up with an old one.
If you were playing, say WoW, and rage about the seventeenth content reset after which everyone is on equal footing once again, I would get your argument, but in EvE that is just not true.
In a way I get much more out of the game, owed to a skill base larger than any new account can have.
In addition we do get: -free expansions -birthday and christmas presents -Aurum through the eveisreal site -the Power of 2 offer
Don't get me wrong. I don't say -NO- to more free stuff, but it's really not our place to complain I think. |

Eve expansions aren't really true expansions. They are content patches that are called expansions. At least they are never good enough to actually charge extra for. Except Trinity and Apocrypha. Plus thats not even a good argument when comparing Vets to new accounts, since you know new accounts get them too.
EQ2 and UO had good "Vet Rewards" which depending on how old your account is you got some goodies. |

BPC gift would be cool, and those also scale to how long you have played. Frigates for first years, and so forth. |

I understand exactly where the OP is coming from on this.
If you have a phone bill, a gas bill, an electricity bill, or any other kind of monthly payment to a company for a service and you try to leave for a better deal, they'll generally offer you a discount, reduced rates or a special offer.
I wanted to quit my ISP this week for various reasons and they offered me half price rates for the next six months.
I changed my electricity company last year but not before I spent three months on reduced rates to keep my custom.
I changed my mobile phone company this year and got again, reduced rates before I finally left.
So realistically, is there that much of a difference for paying CCP monthly for the game and having the occasional offer flung my way to keep me interested?
"Buy two months play time (Real money only) and get a third month free!"
"Buy three months play time (Real money only) now and get 'x' item and 'x' item free!"
All that sort of stuff.
Anyone that's sitting there going "Noes noes noes" needs to pull their tongue out of CCP's arse, stop being a fanboy and start being a consumer.
Just because it's online and a game doesn't make that simple truth any different.
- Edit
Lots of people talking about Vet rewards. That's just as bad as no reward. The easiest way for CCP to do this is simply offer extras with bulk play time purchases in real money only. The more you buy the bigger the reward. |

What about you get a different free rookie ship when you die and go to a station without ships in it? One with gorgeous skin and slightly better stats that helps you to go and get a new ship faster? |
