Actually, they come in 13 flavors. My personal fav is the 'Boomer'. The 'Six' isn't all that bad, either, but Gaius better be careful about these daydreams or someone's gonna find him out.

Is that a good or bad thing?
And the new BSG is awesome.
Now a question: is it me, or does it seem like Tricia Helfer really likes to show off her body? No complaint at all from me btw. But as the seasons progress she seems to be wearing less and less. And to that I say: "It is good."

If you were a fan of the original Battlestar Galactica it is a serious chore to try and seperate the two. With all the character changes IE sex changes and total personality changes it can be very annoying at times. In the original series Starbuck and Appolo were best friends and both male... in this one Starbuck is a chick (albiet a hot chick) that wants to get in Appolo's pants... I find that a little disturbing. and Ty.... my god!! in the original he was this super cool black guy that really cared about his men... in this one he is an old drunken moron with a chip on his shoulder that is larger then the entire fleet, and an IQ that places him somewhere between rock and carrot. I will not even get in to the whole Boomer thing because that one just flat out ****es me off.
On the other hand the space combat and the new vipers flight capabilities are nothing short of amazing. The "silent" battles are very cool and signifigantly increases the tension. The new storyline is very tense and my biggest gripe about that show is that it ends too fast! An hour is just not long enough.
Sci Fi channel's whole Friday lineup is amazing.

QFT.
Personally, I liked season 1 better because I liked the tense 'omg, we're sooo screwwwwd ... run!!!' feeling of the miniseries. And there was more shooting.
But the season finale of season 2 and episode 1 of season 3 KMB (kicked major butt). --

Scfi uk only ever had the old series afaik.
As for the new show, i ain't had a chance to get into it, saw the pilot, wasn't so bad. It's just the time of night they show it, i rarely watch tv.:/

Erm, the new BSG is in the 11th episode of 2nd season now... 3rd season?
Anyway, nine more to go from 2nd season.
Edit: Anyway, I love it. There is tension and action even without constant explosions, althou some of those would be cool as well. I really want to see Galactica use her big guns properly again...

Some people are currently calling the season that has just started up again in America season 3. This is due to the wait of about 2 odd months there was between the episodes. Also due to the fact that season one was also short.
Just gotta love the fact that with out sky1 and the uk TV (which season one was shown first) there would not even be a new BSG, but as soon as it's popular in america they get it first!

iTunes has all of the episodes available for sale (abit $2.00 per episode if you want to pay for it, but I personally think it's worth it).
I absolutely hated the writers when the ended the first part of season 2. The whole ending and then "TBC" at the end just ****ed me off. Reminded me of the end of Season 1 (another hellish cliffhanger).
I have to classify this as possibly one of my favorite Sci-Fi series of all time. It isn't as childish and ideological as Star Trek, and it has better writing and atmosphere than Babylon. ---------------------------------------------- Persona non grata |

It's under TV Shows, the miniseries (opener to the seasons) is in four parts, then the other two seasons are listed.
If you are on the music store home page click TV Shows on the left side.
Not a huge Apple buff myself, but I do have to give them credit for this system. Has two of the three shows I watch available for download...and I don't have to bother with poking around random bittorrent sites looking for episodes. ---------------------------------------------- Persona non grata |

Sshhhhh....Torrenting shows = legal? (besides, torrent is so slow on my machine.)
When I download these, I get to keep the episodes, right? Cause I'd like to burn 'em to a DVD and watch them on a bigger screen And I'm only getting a black screen when in the video section
Nevermind...that's for showing the vidoes I've already bought lol.

I just watched Episode 11 after a 2-3 month wait....the cliff hangar at the end of Ep.10 was so tense you could swim through it. The wait was almost unbearable but I used the 3 months to catch up on other things, like previous episodes. Seriously though, Ep.11 did relieve some of the tension of the previous episode but then when it ended with another "To Be Continued..." with an even more explosive situation than the last I wanted to scream and throw things at the TV (but it's expensive so I threw things at the carpet instead).
I thing Episodes 10-11 of BSGs second season were among the best television I've ever seen. I don't watch much, generally find it hard to sit in front of one (though can spend hours on a PC or XBox), but this season of BSG has been brilliant, every episode, and the last two especially so. The drama is so well drafted, the characters flawed and flawless and even a non-TV watcher like me is glued to it for that american hour.
I think the first season was great too, but the religious cylons had a tendency to go on a bit to the point I thought that if I'd heard "God loves you" just one more time I'd never watch it again. The second has been non-stop roller coaster from beginning till now, and now we have to wait a week for episode 12 As the original poster said though, the show is so good I almost hate it -------------

While that's all true (altho it's been closer to 3mo since season 2 ended), the naming convention comes mostly from how they're being sold on DVD. Dunno if the DVD pack is named the same overseas. *shrug*

*sigh* I'm surely becoming a little obsessed with this show. It's already bad enough that the writing and general production is so fantastic, but the music has to be friggin' amazing too. I've had 'Passacaglia' and 'The Shape Of Things To Come' on loop for the last 30 minutes. Bear McCreary, you bastard!
I've seen the show since the miniseries but I've only become so enamored with it lately. Honestly, it's the first thing since Farscape that I've been able to love this much. Firefly was great, sure, but it didn't attack my attention and draw me in like this has.
Phenomenal storytelling. Especially the last four or so episodes.

I am an avid Scifi nutter and watch allmost all the scifi out there, and i have to say that BSG has to rate very highly for emotional envolvement and attachment that the writers really have out done them selves. The music and atmosphere are amazing the silent space battles are what starwars and trek wanted to do, all though i really want to see the Galactica have some kind of large scale capital ship weapon system. Right now it just seems its all just anit fighter weapons. Going toe to toe with a base star and opening up with some hard core large calliber weapons would really get me off
The break between ep 10 and 11 had me crawling up the wall for the last few months, as well as waiting for the next stargates!! All so amazing programs. Allthough its only BSG that has welled me up to the point of making a big girls blouse out of my self due to the over whelming sense that you are there with them. Oh and i hope that the ***** we all hate gets a nine milli thru the brain.. Word! downloading 12 now !! fingers crossed..

I loved the first series (bar 1 or 2 episodes) and have started watching the second series which started this week and it feels exactly the same as the first series, thank god. It's the best sci-fi thats been on non-digital telly in years. (Stargate Atlantis, wtf is that?)

One word relevent to many posts here but, being carefull and trying not to offend any mods:
Newsgroups.
Just as a side note, Torrent is perfectly legal however, the files that are being xfer'ed may not be legal i.e. in breach of copyright. Now, many files that appear on Torrent appear days before or Newsgroups.
And I believe this has been cleared up but just to re-iterate. Season two has been split into two parts, the first of which finished towards the end of last year and the second part which has been running now for a week or so but, it is still only season TWO and not three.
Bloody good show, love it to bits!

Horay and Yay !
I have been waiting for the rest of season 2 to kick in sometime.
I was really worried that some C O K E headed studio exc. had pulled the plug on it due to someone in the cast not want to sleep with him or something.

BSG is the best scifi series I've seen in years. Well, probably about the only one I've watched more than an episode or two of in a decade.
I was initially confused by series one - I didn't know about the pilot/miniseries - when the first episode started with "Previously on Battlestar Galactica..." I had to eject the disk, thinking I'd loaded the wrong on or something. Then I wondered if the wrong labels had been printed on them.
It is definitely a massive improvement on the original BSG. While it was fun to watch when I was a kid, it fell pretty far short of anything resembling good drama. With this new, improved version they have done a far better job. Some good choices have been made with the characters and the cylons to create a lot more conflict and drama. Let's face it, the original characters were pretty two-dimensional.
I'm just waiting for season two to show up on DVD now.

Okay the cylons need to hire BoB or the MC and learn how to fight fleet battles. Anyone else notice that the cylons dont know how to call a primary like the colonials did, and thats why they got wtfpwnd.
Nice battle scene between captial ships btw.
