I say try a skoda fabia, they are quite cheap to buy run well and are do great MPG. I got a new one 2 years back and its been perfect.

The issue with getting EVE running on YellowDog linux on the PS3 is the fact that no OS apart from Sony's OS has access to the 3D part of the GPU in the PS3. So it would have to emulate everything in software.
