Someone's probably brought this up before, but is it selling enough? Seems like they might be releasing all these additions and promos to try to make up some of their losses from producing it.
I'm just curious. It seems really silly (from a marketing standpoint) to continually add more stuff to it when they could potentially be charging extra for this extra stuff, unless they desperately need to get rid of their extra collector's editions. The tattoos could have been added to the NEX, the dropsuits to the DUST store, whatever it's called.
Were all these promotions intended from the start or are they desperately releasing a backlog of developed-but-not-released items in order to try and sell more? Incarna from 2009. 3 Years later and what we have doesn't look half as good as this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n41s1Iox18A |

I think it is a failure, but only because the pricetag and content is not balanced. You get stuff worth about 30-40 bucks wrapped up in a mystery code for a pricetag of 150 bucks |

The mystery code is unrelated to the preorder bonus, right? As far as I'm aware we have no idea what it will do. Incarna from 2009. 3 Years later and what we have doesn't look half as good as this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n41s1Iox18A |

Well a few threads backed i compared it to giving out tampons to men as men usually don't have periodic bleeding. I was quickly corrected as someone told me they are very useful if you bring a knife to a gunfight. |

I doubt its failing cause people want new and shiny things. My only complaint with it other than a hefty price tag is the 60 day new account code you get. This thing seems like its more for people that already have accounts, play and enjoy the game. Why would you have a thing that is only useable to create a new account not add more time to an existing one? Only main gripe.. |

Yeah, I highly doubt non-eveplayers are buying the CE. Seems fairly useless. Incarna from 2009. 3 Years later and what we have doesn't look half as good as this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n41s1Iox18A |

I think thats the biggest problem with it - without a PC version of Dust let alone people who'd actually play both the pack only really seems like value for money to the current relative minority that play both Dust on console and Eve on the PC.
Other than that the rest of its main market appeal is those who buy all the collectors stuff and thats again a smaller percentage of the player base. |

Sir, maybe you would be also interested in a nice warm cup of nothing for a bargain price of 100 euros ? The cup might me empty for now, but it will automatically refill on 31st February each year. (but only if there is a full moon on that day) |

Honestly, I like the items. I don't think anyone who didn't like the items would purchase it, unless they just *really* like supporting CCP.
Sadly, I feel that every item they release in this promo is taking away from in-game experience. The thrasher, for instance. I'd love to see a way to reskin ships in game, but now it's being limited to those with the almighty promo code. I'm glad I have mine, but at the same time, I feel silly that it's the only way to get the reskin. the fact that every time they patch the game some people have to completely reinstall the game is a fail. i havent been able to play in about 3 days because i cant get the game to ******* patch.
Yes the collectors edition of a game that has been out for years is a fail. |

I have a PS3. It's an old 30gig model. I had linux on it so I lost half of my hard drive space to that. I'm left without enough room to play dust even if I wanted to. Incarna from 2009. 3 Years later and what we have doesn't look half as good as this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n41s1Iox18A |

It's garbage. The only think truly epic about it that gives you something ingame that's EVE related is the golden pod.
The rest is rl stuff that is nice but IMO a collectors edition should give you a ton of epic ingame stuff and not a ton of Dust stuff that will only collect Dust in a corner of your desktop.
I've said it before, include some epic Battleship or some other epic item and we can start talking.
Celebrating a 10 year anniversary by doing this: "Heyyy buy this Collectors Edition and get a skinned frigate and a golden pod! Just 150 Euro!" is just epic fail if anything. My interests include but are not limited to throwing rocks at bee hives.

I *almost* feel like the gnosis BPC should be a BPO. But then it'd just be straight pay-to-win when people start mass-producing ME 100 gnosium that no one else can even make. Haters gonna hate!
Really, if you don't like it, don't buy it.
By making threads like this, you show that you envy the people who do actually buy the thing and that you are ButtHurt about it. Somehow, you try to make yourself feel better by convincing each other that this super awesome Collector's Edition that you're not getting actually isn't worth it for you, even though it's somehow worth your time to make stupid rant posts about it.

I'd prefer paid EVE expansion (for $49) - so I wouldn't have to pledge $65 to Star Citizen in desperate attempt to get any new spaceship content in next couple years. |
