Today, i have my first engagement against a CURSE. OMG ! CCP !!! what have you doing !! 28 of radar strenght ! 110km of lock range, very god resist, and i don't speak of the AMAZING nosferatu bonus. So i ask simply : HOW you can shoot this **** in 1 VS 1 ? It's can shot all HAC, or escape the fight, cans shot all ship under the BS very easy. Against a BS ... Can shoot load of setup whitout real difficulty, and escape the fight often. OK, it's a ship who cost a lot, but you dont loss it easy. We are going to see all ppl in recoon in 1 or 2 month. I dont find fun to need to be 2 or more to kill an only ship. I dont find fun a ship who : can make some EW, can do good dmg whith drone, (And whith the T2 drone and the bonus, you need 5 large smart bomb to pop the drone) who is unjammable (More strenght than a scorpion !!) who is real difficult to damp, who is instant-death for assault ship/interceptor, who can escape load of fight if its smell bad, who got the BEST bonus a drone ship can have (nosferatu), who got bonus on the same think for recoon ship skill.. ect, ect. (And CCP dont change the aggro timer on the gate)
Sry if it's difficult to read it, but iam a bit angry Tell me what do you think of that, and dont say "it's a real good ship!" if you are piloting that ! )

Edit: I suppose i should be constructive. The curse is the most powerful recon ship (yes i know this is debatable, but i'd say it is the most versatile and useful in the most situations) because of the way nos are. So nos are the problem not the ship.

Simple answer to fighting all Recon ships, you don't fight it 1vs1. It IS a little overpowered imo, as are all Recon( ) ships. Though, in a group/fleet battle it should die quickly due to low-ish defenses, aswell as being an expensive target.

ooooo i want a turtle ship!!! when do turtle ships get out instead of racoon ships?
stats for turtleship:
structure: 560000000 points
Shield/shell: 56034995405994582850248502485 points
Armor: 999999999999999... <- this just keeps going until there is no more room or it hits server-limit.
powergrid: 3 points
CPU: 1+ point
sig. radius: 2 m. Description: Turtle-ships are a special form of ship, able to sustain everlasting damage without ever breaking apart, due to it's lack of actual slots in it's fitting it floats around space with no engine at the flaring speed of.. 5 m/s.
Shooting at a turtle-ship will often result in your shot returning to your ship as it bounces off it's shield, sending the damage back.
I want CCP to give it a color of pink and with a little bow-tie instead of an actual engine. Good luck!

What do you expect it to be fitting ?
I;d go with nosses, tracking disruptors, and one or two sensor boosts, some type of armor tank.
What will it do ? Close to 20km, drain your cap, scramble and disrupt your turrets while relying on drones to kill you.
So, what do you do ? 1. Fly a missile boat like a Raven or Cerberus, and use that to kill it. 2. Fly something with insane dps and a cap injector. 3. Fly something that kills drones fast and has a few nosses fitted too. 4. Don't engage, bring a friend or two. 5. Fit, two cap injectors, medium blasters, tracking comps and a passive shieldtank on your scorpion/dominix and go to town on him.
There, 5 options that might very well work against a curse. Recons are very specialised ships, and as such require either a very specilised opponent that can beat them at their own game, a very specilised opponent that can beat them at a different game, or multiple opponents, to be killed.
In the mean time, losing one curse now equates to losing about 3 battleships. I'd take three BS against it any day. _______________________________________________

Yep.
Just like everybody is flying HACs, right?
The economy will keep the ship in balance. A ship with less armor and less offensive capability than a HAC but with some sneaky-sneak/electronic warfare capabilities...and a price tag well above that of a HAC. And limited supply. No, not everybody is going to be flying 'em. And yeah, when you take one out, you're gonna hurt somebody's wallet significantly.
Ushra'Khan love their ECM. Against the Curse they're gonna have to find another way. Savor the challenge.

Heres my experiance with Recon ships so far
Lachesis: I flew it in a gang yesterday, and was lucky enough to get into a fight with an equal sized enemy gang at a gate, every single target that was called I had scrambled for 4 points within a 28km sphere, got us lots of kills, i didn't use any Sensor Dampeners either, all mids were devoted to sensor boosters/propulsion/warp jamming. I did take a bit of fire, and its woefully paper thin in the defense department despite the resists. A corpmate lost a pilgrim in this fight, he died pretty quick considering he was packing a decent, nos fuelled armour tank.
Moral of the story: Hope the enemy gang ignores you, and your recon ship will make a difference, don't expect to live very long with even one HAC shooting you. As far as prices will go, a Recon will definately stay more expensive than HAC's, simply because they are much, much more useful in a gang sitation
Hi TomB! All out Do or Die Blasterboat for tier 3 Gallente battleship please! Make it look cool too. Thanks. |

I think that on the long term they'll cost a little less than HACs, for 2 reasons:
- They can be built about 20% faster, and require a little less components. - They're very usefull for pvp, but not for pve->Less demand.
