I just bought one of these to play around with. Put it on my Ferox and headed into a lvl 3 Angel Extravaganza mission. I have a few questions about this module that I hope somebody has answers to....
1. "Grants a +2 bonus to max targets when online" - The description says that this module gives you 2 additional targets. Yet I still seem to only be able to lock 5 at a time. Is the bonus applied only to the ship's maximum locked targets? If so, that's fine... but the description is open to misinterpretation.
2. "Targets any hostile ship within range on activation" - This part of the description led me to believe that hostile ships would be targeted. Yet the very first thing this module auto-targeted during this Angel mission was a piece of wall. I assumed (yeah, I know) that it would auto-target ships when they began to flash (ie. aggroed to me)... instead, I had to keep untargeting structures. 
If anybody out there has any light they can shed on this, I'd appreciate it. This isn't a game-breaker, as I only wanted to play with it a little... but it's a bit disappointing that it's not doing ANYTHING that I expected it to do.

Edited by: Szun on 09/01/2006 03:42:49 well ... if you had 5 targets befor and dont get +2 you may want to check the "max locked targets" for Ferox, i know my Apoc can have 7 targets. My personal opinion is that a shipslot can hold better stuff then +2 locked targets...unless you mine a lot and dont want to search new roids every 5 min 
P.S. Autotarget enemies is under "ESC" "general" "max autolock " default is 1 i think. Most ppl huse the 0 setting because some misson missle sentrys get locked every time and if you return fire you agro everything in that "zone"

well i play since august and it allways worked :D
edit: it worked so well that when i repaired a mineing bark he targeted me unknowingly and send his drones on me by accident and got concorded:P

Yeah, I checked the Ferox info. Default max locked targets is 8... my ship's info (with the auto-targeting module fitted) says max locked is 10. Seems to be adding the extra 2 to the ship. I was able to target 5 before I put the mod on; still able to only target 5 afterwards. Makes sense but, like I said, the description is a little misleading.

heheh, no mining for me. And I agree... I was just playing with it. Took out one of my med. hybrids so I could try it out. Only use the hybrids for fast frigates anyways.

Thanks for that tip... I'll play with it a little.
So far, my opinion of this module is that it's a complete waste. I can live with the +2 targets only being applied to the ship's max; but when it starts targeting walls and acceleration gates instead of the ships that are shooting at me...
