So the other day I was going to rat in null sec. The system was clear so I exited my wh. I was in a pre drake and wasn't prepared for a faction heavy assault cruiser to follow me out. Once he had me locked and scrammed I had to attempt to do something. Then three of his friends jumped me. A command ship and two other heavy cruisers. I think I have come to the conclusion that my drake drake is going to be used for doing sleeper sites, but how could I fit it to at least trash at least one target before getting killed? Or should I be considering another ship with a smaller sig radius? I was considering cheap t1 ships I don't care to lose often. What would be a good ship that would buy me some time? Is you could provide ideas to go along with fits that would be great. |

Look at the value of the ship for starters. A drake does low DPS to begin with. It is not going to compete with a PVP heavy assault, let alone 4 of them. |

That particular instance I was going to belt rat. I think that my drake is going to be for wormhole anoms from now on. It seems I need to back track and use frigs to learn the ropes or go back to patient stealth bomber kills. Apparently I'm a magnet for ganking |

Don't worry too much about it. It is impossible to produce a ship loadout that retains max efficiency both in PvP and PvE, fly solo with it and hope to avert ganking, kill an attacker or be cheap enough to shrug off the loss at the same time.
The answer to your problems is to keep your PvE fits cheap and specialized, learn to use scouting/local/your dscan for situational awareness and never fly what you cannot afford to lose...multiple times. |

The biggest issue here is that you didn't dscan/see the uncloaked HAC that was clearly on the hole.
Also, the Drake isn't going to tear ANYTHING up.
Can you hear them? They are calling to us. It is beautiful.

Oh I used dscan. I think I was unlucky. The hac was in warp from another wormhole and I just happened to be on the other side as he jumped in. Basically everything came together for them. I believe the wh they were using was out of scan range. But I use dscan regularly. Bordering fanatical even. |

If he was out of dscan range at the point your drake jumped through the hole, you should've easily been able to get into warp before he was able to land on the hole and jump through after you. |
