Same exact specs, same exact problem.
Updating the driver did not resolve the issue.
This is a direct result of the patch. GREAT work, CCP. Real bang-up job.

This a problem with the patch clearly.. these things happen... likely because of not enough playtesting because everyone was whining to get them to hurry up with th patch.
So please don't start complaining... let them fix it. I'm sure they are working as hard and fast as humanly possible...

friend of mine is having the same issues,
Xpress radeon 200 of course.
this is why we need better patch notes
What I want to know is if these are related
and if the new text fixes are involved:
"Few issues with character portraits have been fixed."
"Buddy list showing wrong online/offline status has been fixed." (isn't fixed)

Hey ppl,
I have the same symptoms - screen flashing black - game is unplayable. After today's patch only.
Specs:
HP nx9005 laptop with 1,8 GhZ AMD CPU
ATI IGP 320 64 MB running normal drivers from ATI..
Please CCP - no more such surprises...

I can't even get in the game with this issue. i've even reinstalled 2 times and it made it worse. please ccp fix this. .... ....

I'd also like to sound my issue as well. Every time I log in and try to do anything I get the flashing on my laptop. No other computer ehere to test with.

I have an HP mediacenter2005 m7100y athlon 64 system.
I get the flashing also.
It has intg ati radeon xpress 200 series video.
windowed mode, 16bit color, 1027x768,32bit zbuffer with 8bit stencil, Zbuffer.coolgrey presets.Audio on, and probably everyting else set to defaults.
In windowed mode, i get to the char select with no problems, even if i switch characters.
I am undocked and can login just fine outside in space.
I can move around in space just fine, rotate the ship, look around, no problem.
I can right click on the station just fine.
I can right click in overview with no problems.
--Everything is perfect, until i join a gang, and move the mouse around the gang members down there on the right, down below overview.
It acts as though it's giving me 1 frame per second after it starts blinking, then, i hit escape and go into the menu and it doesnt give any display at all after i leave that menu.

i dont have the problem, I have a 4 year old gateway peice of **** 2.53mhz processor (p4) with 512 of ram, and a 128 Radeon 9600 (upgraded  ) and it runs, well it runs, but its a peice of ****. WTT: my comp for one you peoples kick ass ones

Same card, same problem. Log in and it's black flashing screen time. I'm out of game until this gets fixed. I use a laptop to play, so I can't really upgrade my card.

heheh i am joining this club as well
im glad i have a second computer that isn't affected by this so i can at least change skills
i did put this in for surport
if anyone else is gonna send the dirext x diagnotic with it as it helps them find out whats going on

well it looks like it the ATi Radeon Xpress 200M that might be the prob here, i run 2 PC's bothwith different cards and i have no probs at all, but reading this thread most if not all of you r running ATi Radeon Xpress 200M,
CCP most have changed something in the client, also guys are u running the latest driver, had m8 with graphics probs on eve before and reinstalling driver worked for him

Unfortunately it's very clear that drivers and eve reinstalls do not help. I've tried a dozen drivers dating back to July and August, both from the manufactorer as well as ATI and other 'alternative' drivers. It's the eve patch that changed something, and it feels like that is what might need looking into ;)

well this total BS ccp . 1 downtime passed and no fix deployed on the radeon 200 situation . okie we may not be a huge majoritey . but youve crapped on basicly a new modern up to date graphics device which is being sold daily in popular stores such as curries . dixon and pc world in the UK / my pc is two weeks old i was told that i had too upgrade . did and now i cant play
you deployed a patch where the previous version worked perfectly and junked my pc for this game . hope u dont expect a subscribtion next period if u dont fix this . too say well bugger off if your not happy that some who read this might think . i spent alot off time developing my character and because off a badly implemented patch my machines trashed .
yes im angry . i expected a priority fix on this or a roll back too the previous renderer . simply because we are not talking a 4 year old graphics device here .

Exact same issue....
As most posts on the forums atm are related to the same or near enough issue surely CCP will fix this problem ASAP....or they could just be themselves and not bother.
Guess we'll have to wait and see....but lets not wait too long..account renewal due 24th Jan....and enough is enough...at least gunbound doesnt crap out on a new patch...

ok the gm told me to reinstall eve and that crap didnt work now i cant get past the damn charecter screen cause they dont know what my charecters look like duhhhhhh take the pathc the hell away i wanna play eve then have a crappy pathc get rid of the damn thing

well talking to a m8 last night about other problems with eve
i.e. not being able to click on gates if someone has activated it, mods not activating when they r primed and u have a lock, this **** message that keep coming up about some message not sent or some **** like that, just to name one or two, but anyhow ccp r more intrested in game content not getting it running right, untill they sort themselves out what hope do we have

Ok..same problem here and a "wanna be" pirate just killed and podded me because I couldn't click on autopilot when coming out of the station. This is totally unfair to us with brand new machines. Please get this fixed as soon as possible. I guess I can be comfortated in the fact that my clone was up to date.
