Since the patch every time I try and view info on another player Eve crashes.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Sometimes I get lucky and can view one or two, but then it crashes.

Someone told me if I clear my cache it will help. How do you do that?

Same here, but only on my notebook...
Keeps telling me that ialmdd5.dll causes the crash.... Isn't that a video driver?

I CTD constantly, but it has nothing to do with viewing character info...

I tried emptying my cache and it still didnt help. Is there anything else to do that will help?  |

A little more info: I'm using a Dell Latitude X1 with an integrated 915GM/PM/GMS/910GML video chipset. Cleared the cache, didn't help.

I've petitioned about it, they've had me send them some information from the Direct X diagnostic tool, I'm still waiting on a reply after that. Once we work out something that works I'll pass it on.

Yes me too..this is happening alot. Opening and closing windows ..especially player show info windows. Eve crashed like 10 times since patch with 2 times being a reboot ..blue screen of death

Same problem here. I can usually view info of a player whose pic is already in my cache, but if not, Eve just closes with no error message. Same happenned when I tried to view read an agent's mail whose pic I didn't have in cache.

Dell Lattitude with the Intel vid as well crash every 3 mins or so, i have even deleted and re-installed eve.
glad to see im not alone in this.

I'm having the same problems that everyone above have described. 1 blue screen of death and 3 CTDs trying to load someone's info.
Glad I'm not alone...I guess

Having exactly the same problem. Two crashes yesterday whilst talking to storyline agent and now 6 in 1/2 hour trying to get player info.
If it's been petitioned before it now has again...

Me too crashing every 5-7 minutes and mostly i cant even login.
I`ve payed till april, than its end of story back to battlefield again can`t play this way.
How can whe build something up this way?
Sorry ppl game is really great but gameplay sucks. 17000 players online is way to high for this game.

Your solution is a lot better then the GM's, update your drivers and if that doesn't work then it's your problem.

I'm so ****ed off. Not one crash in 4 months then 9 in one day after the Jan 10 patch
I'm gonna try the fix from the other thread and if that doesn't work then I'll cancel my subscription
CCP: You really have to get the game working properly or I won't be the only one leaving

we are in the same situation guys!
in fact the crash happens when loading someone's picture, both npc and player, and even myself!
by the way, everyone got a laptop here? or even more, everyone got a dell inspiron 6000 here?

Me too! I first noticed it just hours after the patch, the first time I logged on.
If I show info on someone who I already have in my cache, works fine.
If I show info on someone who isn't in my cache, I crash to desktop.
If I'm out in space doing any number of things (combat, mining, using a jumpgate), I crash.
Once I had stop error (blue screen of death) and I'm surprised it hasn't happened since.

I looked it up and it is an Intel graphics driver (Mobile Intel« 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family. I have a laptop and downgraded to the drivers before the most recent (I had the most recent, couldn't upgrade) and had the same problem.
I tried renaming my cache and starting a fresh new one, and I couldn 't even log on afterwards. I could log in, and select a character but during that loading bar, crash to desktop.
I tried to uninstall then reinstall, then the auto-patch didn't work. So I hunted on the EO website to look for the patch exe file and downloaded then patched manually. Logged in fine. Tried to do some of the other stuff I did before, crashed to desktop. Grr.
Oh, and I sent CCP my dxdiag info too, still waiting to hear back from them. They also wanted me to take a screenshot of PingPlotter data, but I can't get it to work because I don't know which port to open in my router to let the program work.
What a pain in the ass.

Oh yes, and on the login page my portrait doesnt show properly. Only shows 2/3, rest is a green triangle.
