As we are gething accused of "exploiting" and "cheating" by our targets i thought know what.... maby reveal a trick i learned recently.
Yes iam rather new to 0.0 and fleet combat however i addept quickly.
I allways lagged bigtime when jumping into another system or to another gate that where heavly crouded.
Untill someone told me to close my "poeple and places". Not open, Not minimized, but CLOSED.
Worked like a charm......
ps. posted in here as its mostly corporations/alliance who use big fleets and have massive lag during battle.

Reducing your overview when you jump in helps as well :)

Dont all jump into a system at the same time, i.e. not 20-50 at once. Jump in batches of 10, wait 5s then next batch jumps in, and repeat for the rest.

If theres a lot of destination changes being giving, I sometimes like to have it P&P nestled under local MK. But if I'm in fleet battle prep mode, it gets turned off with everything else.

I find the best way to reduce lag is to play Eve from the same building in the U.K were the servers are hosted at....

Can't you still understand that the lag ,even without the ctrl+e/t, shouldn't exist?

I hit jump and then grab the arms of my chair and start praying.
First to God, then Allah and maybe a quick word to Buddah.
Evidently there is no devine intervention and I end up relogging to solve my lag issues.

And how all of this redues probability to not CTD half of the gang on hiting jump button, when you are around? How this will reduec server side lag when you are aprouched ship on stasis web range but activate it, but server say you are 50km away in other direction from the targeted ship? How you explaing when your gang of 15-20 pilots ( V ) are around n-real <-> jv-u2 pilots getting laged to death, when same pilot is lag free when -LV- moving there gang of 50 pilots? How all of this that you suggest can help with server side lag? How can you fight and pick target by name when your overview is minimized?
Just a few question. Can you answer on them Freya?

In all honesty we don't know what causes your lag and neither are we doing anything that we know of to cause your lag. Freya has offered some tips to help yet you throw it back in his face. All I can say is that we suffer from lag but try to ascertain why it does not affect all our pilots, when we find what causes 1 pilot to lag and not the others then we try to do something about it. The closing of P&P is a good example of this, Freya suffered in a battle in the 74 system and was lagged till he was in a pod and complained about always getting lag when jumping through gates, he was the only one with his P&P open. Now he doesn't have it open and it has reduced his lag.
With regard the Overview ... re-read the comment ... it says close it when jumping ..... not leave it closed !!!
There are a few other things that you can do that help reduce lag but to be honest if you keep throwing it back at us, why should we share this with you? Work out the rest for yourself.

I said that I can run 3 client's , but I do not have so many accounts. So it's all rounded to 1 client on 1 mashine

Switch all chat channels to "blink off" and close ones that are not essential.
Also play in full screen rather than windows mode.
Not sure if these help but I have been told that they do.
I sitll like the idea someone posted elsewhere of ccp enabling you to be able to switch all textures off in the same way you can effects - sure the game would look **** whilst they were off but i would rather have that than wind up in a cloning bay due to lag.

oh well first thing you should do is turn of your goddamn sound effects. It was pain to watch that lagfest video. second thing you do is READ and LEARN from this topic http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=110129 third thing always use FULLSCREEN view when you are in fleetbattle. Close all programms in task wich use your network and/or memory/cpu etc etc etc. there is alot tweaks u can make to improve your eve performance.

- Turn of all effects/sounds - Close overview until space i loaded (yeah, i know i know IF loading at all) - Turn of "blink" for your chat windows and minimize (or close those you dont need) - Shut down ppl&places (I also kinda confused why you want that opened) - No logging (if you have a fast HDD that wont matter that much)
Now, that will help you get more FPS and hopefully less lag, we all know that. She problem is that it should not be needed, we all agree on that.
This has been discussed to no end before and never seen any response from the Devs. They just say they are working on it which I believe they do but cant get it fixed. However, right now its more than just lag due to 200ppl in the same system, I mean I can be alone in a system and still get 30 sec's module activation while my friends are in the system next to it with ZERO lag. Lag is now not only anoying as hell, its turned Random.
I talked to ppl that hangs around EC-P and the North and they say just jumping into EC-P is like diving in to a tank of orange goo! (Orange goo in this case would be what ever substance that makes EVE slow down to a crawl once the system is actually loaded).
Lets hope the 64-bit upgrade brings more speed!
