"This week in EVE" is a weekly overview of EVE Online related news and events and shows what is going on in EVE Online. The focus of this overview is on official news from CCP: For example, dev blogs and important forum posts by CCP developers, the ever evolving background story and upcoming events. - EVE Online wins World Summit Award
EVE Online has been selected as a winner in the bi-annually UN, UNESCO and UNIDO backed World Summit Awards (WSA). The win comes in the category of e-Entertainment & Games, and was picked by the WSAGÇÖs international experts jury from a total of 460 qualifying submissions. The World Summit Awards will be awarded at the WSA Global Congress in Colombo, Sri Lanka, October 23-26.
- Bitcoins, virtual currencies and EVE Online
CCP DrEyjoG, lead economist for EVE Online, had a great contribution in above linked Polygon article on Bitcoin, virtual currencies and EVE Online. EVE is a set of virtual businesses that operate within virtual economies using virtual currencies, and virtual currencies are basically a measure of economic value that is used in a system. Jed Stevens (of Gentleman's Agreement) did not create the NFL skins. These were created by another alliance mate of ours, Marne DeVille. His design studio service, Dogface Design, can be found here. Jed simply posted the link to the album on the Eve-O forum. Just want to make sure the right person is getting credit
