Was wondering if there was a user guide to help set things up in SMF? I have installed the plugin but do not see any of the settings to do anything with it. |

Do you use a custom theme? I used to have the problem that the plugin wouldnGÇÿt show up in the admin area of a custom theme. If it is correctly installed and activated, it should at least show up in the standard theme. |

Yes, I am using a custome theme. I will set it back to the normal theme and see what happens. Thank you for your help!!

Hello there, Im trying to run that TEA stuff on SMF 2.0.9 with PHP5.3. The package was installed but nothing changed after that. I mean - nothing new under "Features and Options". Can you give me a clue, what i have to do to make it run?
Best regards and Thanks! |

Hard to say for sure. What makes you think that those errors are tied to standings not updating? Temars seems to throw a lot of errors/warnings that don't necessarily impact the application. Without seeing your install I could throw out some guesses:
1) wrong api key 2) temars not configured to update standings 3) timer for standings update invalid 4) permission on standings file incorrect at the server level and temars can't write to file

Hello,
Since migrating to a new server, avatars do not work anymore. It looks like adress of avatar is set to 127.0.0.1/smf/avatars folder.
No smf folder exists and I don't find out where this value is set.
Also, when chossing avatar from profile, we can select image (avatar show up) but when validating form, checkbox goes back to "no avatar" and then no image is selected.
I saw in the past one person got that problem and reinstalled TEA, problem with me is since upgrade installing / uninstalling looks like bugged (many red steps while test uninstalling). I don't want to go further because of this.
I think there is maybe a chmod set problem because no avatar is uploaded in /avatars folder.
Thanks for any help. |

Sounds like an SMF issue. did you migrate all your data over to the new server? If yes, did you update all the links for the forum...it isn't as simple as copying over to a new server.

And yes, same files uploaded by ftp, permissions updated, database backed up and restored, and domain was moved to new server, so links stay the same.
It's like when selecting avatar image in profile (that shows uo at this place), it's not correctly uploaded in server (don't lnow location of theses avatars files) and because it's not uploaded, smf chose default image (with wrong path).
Here the selection of avatar -> http://puu.sh/hXQv8/a688092d5c.png
When validating form going back to "No Avatar" -> http://puu.sh/hXQBe/725520163f.png
Here is the smf default image (smf installed on root directory, and not in smf like shown here) -> http://puu.sh/hXQHb/88152bf7e6.png
Thanks again for any help. |

I would check both your attachment and avatar settings. I'm thinking you have something setup incorrectly there, or it is setup correctly but the two folders listed there, you don't have permission to access. I would also try to attach the avatar, and then review the error logs to see what information it shows there. I would guess there would be something in either of those two places that would shed some light.

Looks like it's struggling to connect to the jabber database.
I would suggest first seeing if you can actually access the database remotely. If you have SSH access on the same server as the forums use that, if not, use something like the below PHP to test if you can connect to the DB server
$db_server = ""; $db_user = "openfire"; $db_passwd = ""; $db_name = "openfiredb";
$link = mysqli_connect($db_server, $db_user, $db_passwd, $db_name); $sql = "SELECT * FROM ofUser"; if (!mysqli_query($link,$sql)) { die('Error: ' . mysqli_error($link)); }
print "Accessed ok (hopefully)";

Try uninstalling the TEA mod and reinstalling. It should keep settings but possibly fix the unable to edit issue.
However yes, openfire support was flakey to start with, and now the method they use is deprecated by UserService.
For my corp I have coded our own solution into our own system, which makes use of SMF forum groups, which uses TEA to manage the groups.
If you know PHP I would strongly recommend looking at this:

Not really sure what that does different than
"http://example.com:9090/plugins/userService/userservice?type=add&secret=bigsecret&username=kafka&password=drowssap&name=franz&[email protected]"
which is simple enough to implement in a form but provides 0 api checking. |

Well the difference is what you linked, which is what TEA uses, is now deprecated, meaning it will be removed at some point and is old hat. Whereas the library I linked uses the new version of the user service API. What it allows is for you to integrate it into your own program easily. So to program your own solution, and not use TEA.

could it be a timer that has locked you out? I think I remember seeing something similar for TS but with TS i believe it was user friendly and told me how long to wait before making changes again. If you have scheduled tasks running for jabber, it could be trying to access jabber and continueing to lock you out. Maybe turn that off, then wait and see if you can make changes on the settings.
Is your SMF database also remote? If not, why not just have everything in one place?

The SMF is remote, we're in the process of migrating and I actually already have the plugin working on a local server. Just broke the remote version of it :P |

My guess is you don't have both options checked under admin. go to admin > config > temars api > teamspeak and make sure both "use unique id" and "use online check" or whatever they are called are checked and saved. I am thinking you only get a radio option when there are two choices and yours only shows one (unique id).
