even if minmatar has the smallest population thats a pretty sad number of Tempest/Typhoon BS compared to the others

Considering many more players chose Caldari over any other race at creation, those numbers take some other meaning

Not to degrade this thread into a Minmatard Whine Convention but aren't the Matari tribes collectively the third most played race?

Yet our Battleships are well below even the Amarr, who make up the smallest percentage of the playerbase. That tells me that there are a lot of Minmatar players out there who have turned their backs on their own ship race. For every Minmatar BS, there are probably 4 Matari Battleship-capable Pilots. (statistics made up on the spot ftw.)

Well, there's 1 Imperial Apocalypse, I can tell you that...
2, and its not faction.
Oh cool, who has it? And I thought the limited-edition ships given out by NPC factions counted as "faction" ships too...if not, then what are they classified as? I know that modules have both "faction" and "officer" versions, but the Impocs/Impgeddons/Federate Thron etc etc certainly aren't "officer" anything...so if they're not "faction", what ARE they? -------------------------------------[04:04:04] Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk

Not really. What's more relevant is the % of players who have each BS skill. Character race counts for little in that respect.
(PS, as once more data like this is being given out in EON, I went for it and scrapped plans for a new TFT this month.)
Warning: above post may contain traces of sarcasm. "Corpse cannot be fitted onto ship. Only hardware modules can be fitted." |

Pilot race doesn't mean much, people just realize that aside from gate ganking in a snipest the matari battleships are pretty laclustre. The state of projectiles have a large impact on that fact.

Apoc and arma are high on the 2nd battleship list, for mining purposes and gankageddon probably has a lot to do with it too. And since we're making up statistics, I wonder how many minmatar pilots never bothered with battleships cause they love the small minmatar ships soo much ( which are quite a lot better compaired to the big ships ) I'm 1 for sure.

I don't even think a [rojectile boost will boost the number of Minnie BS's. Do you remember when the 1400 riegned supreme? People put them on Geddons and Apocs! Our layouts are very unusual (I won't say underpowered because I left my flame retardent suit at home) and they are not the most majestic looking ships to boot. I personally like the look of the Tempest but the Phoon does not appeal to everyone.
Another poster mentioned the use of the faster Minnie ships. We have some awesome frigs, cruisers, and HAC's. I have been in this game since retail and have not flown a Minnie BS in almost 2 years.

I want those stats.
Everyone knows 1 Minmatar is worth at least 4 Amarr, 3 Caldari, and 2 Gallante.
We don't need a large populace... quality over quantity ftw!
In the ulgyness race, most definitely. In fact, many would be all to happy to give you 5:1 odds for ug-mo factor over any other ships.

As a veteran of this game, i have maxed my minmatar related, ship, and gunnery skills, own tempests and typhoon.
But must say, I am nearly maxed in caldari related skills , and on my way to do it on the gallante side also.
The way this game swings, balance ,unbalance, i will rather bet on several horses than be stuck, with one lame old rag.
Unfortunatly, i have not been using my BS skills,to PvP much lately, BS's is parked to NPC, use hac, cruisers or intys, to PvP in, much more fun.

Edited by: Snake Jankins on 12/01/2006 06:18:36 The Raven numbers are no wonder. It was the mission battleship number one for a long time and needed and still needs less skillpoints to make it work and it is still a very good battleship. I'm Minni and I switched to caldari for mission running before the missile nerf. After that I went to 0.0 and needed a bs to hunt angels and the Raven just owns for that. I tried it with a Typhoon, too. Well, that finally conviced me to keep specializing in Caldari stuff.
But I've another mini, who flies 3 races (mini, caldari, amarr) and he gets a minmatar spezialization, because that was always what I wanted for pvp. Although I'm wondering, if it makes sense. ( If someone offered my a hi-level combat char of my choice now, I'd take a gallente specialized char for pvp. Sadly my only char who can fly gallente bs is an industrial char with low perc. ) ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |

I'm with you on that one. It's also an excellent mission ship, and overall it's been made better with the latest drone changes. (That last bit being my own opinion, of course)
The domi is the cheapest battleship in the game, and is arguably the most effective combat battleship for sub-20k fights. ------------------------------------------------ Derailing threads with logic since 1992 |

those numbers don't say lots by themselves. One has to take into account the character distribution over the races. Your racial tier1/2 BS is usually the first bs you will ever fly, and for many, many, peple the only ones they fly.

and it's very versatile. It's a good ship for almost all aspects of the game, and usable by all different players.. new, old, skilled, unskilled.
As far as the raven goes, the number is probably so high because of the days when every pro mission runner in EVE had a raven. Raven farmed l4s like cake. Everyone had a raven.
