What is the grosses thing you have ever ate?
For me it would probably be when I was a kid in school and I was bunching some wheat thin crackers from a box, they didn't taste right almost like partially crunchy and mushy..
I poured the box of wheat thins onto a plate...
The entire box was filled with larva and maggots crawling through it..
After seeing the extra "ingredients' that was in the box I immediately went to the hot water dispenser and took boiling hot water swished it around my mouth and spit it all over the floor of the class.
How bout you?

Everyone has done that.
I'd rather hear the insanity of those who eat gross voluntarily and enthusiastically. |

Beef stroganoff army rations.
Switched my standard Israeli MREs with an American friend to see whose was worse.
Yep... eating the beef stroganoff was like eating it after the previous eater had had serious diarrhea.
On eating things voluntary and enthusiastically:

Dog, boiled with salt and lemon grass, then cut into stir fry-sized pieces. The flavor's not that bad, just very gamey red meat. But I unappetizing part was that knew that dog when he was alive. He was a village dog, one of those not-so-healthy-looking kind you see hanging around in less developed countries.
Sea cucumber intestines in soya-citrus-vinegar sauce isn't that great either. Japanese people will eat it, but I think they mostly save it to feed to the foreigner and see the look on his face. Fresh turtle blood in red wine is another Japanese stomach-turner. Supposed to have Viagra-like effects.
But the worst of all for me was fried termite queen. If you don't think about it and can actually chew it, it tastes like a hard-fried egg yolk. |

Do you mean the Denver omelette MRE or the Denver omelette in general because I had those all the time back in my hang out at Denny's every day days. Out of Pod is getting In the Pod - Join in game channel IG OOPE |

I like liverwurst and anchovies. Sometimes, at the same time.
Nasties thing I ever ate, though, was in the Nav... We'd been on patrol for... Well, a goodly long time. MidRats (Midnight Rations, AKA "Dead Rats") were susally cold cuts... Sloced off of monsterous deli-sixed logs f meat. Roast beast (AKA Baboon Ass), Balogna (AKA Horse ****), and Salami (AKA Donkey ****). After a few weeks, the salami and balogna would start t develop a... rind. A green-ish/grey raind that slowly worked it's way inwards. Eventually, when the entire hunk of meat was the same green/grey colow, the cooks diced it up and served it fried with powdered eggs (made with powdered milk).
Bon appetit!

apparently. according to a story my dad tells, when i was a toddler i sampled my own poo once. that would be my vote...however, seeing as i was too young to remember this culinary escapade...i'm going to have to go with the cajun fried grasshoppers i was tricked into trying. they didn't even look like bugs...more like dumplings or something.

pork liver
here we call it "iscas" and it's usually served with squashed potatoes.
well.. we have "arroz de cabidela", which is pretty much rice cooked on raw blood, usually pork blood.

A small cockroach that was accidentally (I hope so at least) baked into a loaf of bread. The most interesting part about this was how my scumbag brain reacted to it: After biting on something crispy and seeing black chitin in the bread, the realization of what was actually happening was so slow that I actually took a second bite until my mind finally couldn't deny anymore what was going on and I threw up. I guess I don't have the best survival instincts and probably wouldn't survive a week in the wilderness. Just think of how bad an average post by me is, and then realize half of them are even worse |

Most definitely the Denver omelette MRE. Even if you chose to use the food heater in the MRE and not make a bomb out of it because you were bored, it was still nasty. The stroganoff was edible if you used the heater.
When I was downrange I worked the 1800-0600 shift, so I normally just ate something around midnight. However, the midnight chow was pretty much whatever was left over from evening chow, just burned more due to being left under a heating lamp all night. Also it always got mortared around the same time so I ended up just living off of MREs while at work instead of walking all the way there and risk having to lie in a ditch for two hours after the attacks, missing chow...this happened often. For some reason people threw away the milkshakes, which actually weren't bad. If I got the infamous Denver omelette, I'd just toss that and gather up whoever else had the strawberry milkshake and make lots of pudding out of it. |

Well, the Gauls apparently survived on bark, bugs, lizards, and leaves. That bug should have given you the strength to take Rome or something. |
