Wow.
How about we make pvp a little more enticing by reducing the cost of death? Maybe more people would be out shooting each other up. It's enough just to lose your rare mods, especially when it comes along with the loss of a 105,000,000 isk battleship.
Increasing the death penalty would just sux0r a real lot.

I'm pretty sure that once there are player character Joves they will have perma death, just like the Jedi have in SWG, which is IMHO a good thing. -------------------------------------- Sarela "Eurydike" Taris

Best way to do Jove characters is to have timers for them. You have X amount of time before their disease overcomes you and you off yourself. Make the lifespans random for all.
Would be funny to hear about someone unlocking their jove character only to have it die a day later due to Megamanicdepression.

I've never heard of a worse idea.
Take a look at SWG. Maybe 1 in 1000 get to be Jedi. It takes a very long time and is by far the most powerful char in the game.
To have permadeath in any game the mechanics have to be there. Eve does not have it. It takes a long time to train skills and to accumulate wealth.
All games suffer from lag death, some worse than others. You would need an army of GM's to keep up with the complaints.
Last but not least no likes to cover the same ground twice. More people quit because of this reason alone than any other. Its called getting bored with the game. Mining for endless hours or dying for endless hours, no difference both are boring.
Eve by far has the harshest death penelty of any MMORPG I have played, both in the terms of time and money. Make the game perma death and no one will ever get out of frigates. Hell in 3 months no one will be playing, everyone will be bored to tears.

"My kinda visual."
Yay for Civire girls for being small, lithe and supple. *grins*
re: screenshots from Chaos... well, not sure what exactly was questioned so here's one. A newbie character in the pod after the sentry destroyed the Ibis right after undocking and without warning; easy to see the sentry is now locked on the pod and in the aggro mode, too...

I think that after you have accumulated a huge amount of skill points,, you should have the option of becoming a jovian. For those who make this transistion though death would be permanent. It would be interesting to see who would make the transition and take the risk

I think this has been the idea, Angelsfist. Though I think there were some other restrictions on becoming a Jove (faction rating, maybe even RPing... who knows). -------------------------------------- Sarela "Eurydike" Taris

What I would like to see is what I origianlly thought on how hte cloens worked when I started this game.
When you buy the clone, your skills you currently have up to the max on that clone would be locked on that clone. The way it currently is "buy a clone that wont be obsolete for another 2 months and it will auto-update the memory of it as i fly around and train". As long as you have a clone that's points are greater than your current points, you die and come back in seconds with just as much intellegence. WRONG IDEA CCP. You don't go and create a clone to go into storage then every second snd it new information to house in its brain while in cryo. when ya throw it to cryo, it should know x ammount of information and that info cant be changed til that clone is re-activated.
By that system, you could have multiple clones out there, each with different levels of your life. when you die, the most current one is activated..then die again, next current, etc.
