Captain Tightpants	Posted - 2006.01.13 13:57:00 - [1] It's pretty obvious that there's a strong anti-CCP current running through some members, as evidenced by the "OMG you nerfed my ship on purpose!" through to the "OMG you made the font suck on purpose!!" via the "OMG you made downtime lasted an hour and a half longer on purpose!!11" threads. Now, I'm not a blind devotee of CCP, I just live in the real world enough to realise that no-one's perfect, and I'm sure they must get pretty dispirited sometimes due to the fact that they can't make any changes without people getting narky. As such, I thought it would be a nice gesture to compile a list of things that they can change/fiddle with/nerf/make unicode/eat without causing mass indignation. This isn't a thread for things you WANT. This is a thread for things that you honestly, really, don't give a hoot about. So, without further ado; I hereby declare that I will not complain, gripe, whine, cry, yell, moan about or otherwise lament; -making the Thorax look a little less like a... you know. -the correct use of punctuation. -the fact that to do the HARD parts of the game, you need to have some skills. -the removal of aspects of the game I consider 'unnesscary' such as asteroids, PvPers, the Minmatar and other players. -taking the forums offline between 9-5 so that I can actually get on with some work. -replacing all non-Gallente ships with foam rubber toys. -jumpgate reroutes getting Oursulaert traffic sent into the outer rim. -introducing alien life in the form of a many-tentacled woe. Who's with me?

Slink Grinsdikild	Posted - 2006.01.13 14:05:00 - [3] Overall i'm pretty happy with EVE. There are a few balance issues, but every MMO has their red headed stepchild race, empire or character class. In EVE, thats the Minmatar.

Basically it kills your enthusiasm, grinds you down and basically makes you ask yourself on a near minutely basis, "why bother". In the end, it turns into a self fulfilling prophecy: "Players will b**ch, threaten, shout and whine no matter what you do. So you may as well do whatever you like, make the game what you want and ignore them. Cos at least then, someone will be happy. You". I've learnt over the last 3 years of running the damn thing that 90% of players have no sense of perspective or even what it is they really want (other than for them to "win", especially if that means everyone else "loses"). I truely believe that if you gave palyers what the majority of "voices" ask for, you'd have a boring 2 diamentional game you couldn't even pay them to play. So, in short, they can do whatever they like in my book. If they ask for feedback on it, I'll happily give it as constructively as I can. If the game becomes something I no longer enjoy, then I'll move on... and no you can't have my stuff cos I'm a miserable old bugger!

PS please update ur wooden computer and can and string dial-up connection. the world would be very greatful

Back when people actually played it ( maybe 5000 people played it, now only bout 500 ) Their forums looked alot like eve's does. The game has pretty much died but the company is still trying to get customers. They had extreme bad luck with advertisement company choices because they had 0 advertisements in US / UK from what I know of at least. Anyway now you must be a subscriber to actually READ most of their forum ( something they've added since the fall of the game ) And, yea I went back to see if it was improved at all, all the threads you do see once you goto the main discussion forum are all 'we love you' 'good job' 'how are ya?' type threads. I was disgusted tbh, they had the same bugs + more that I had when I quit over a year and a half ago . The only thing they added was a better gfx engine, some new textures, some very little new content, and just more and more bugs. Not 1 person was complaining about bugs. There are so many memory leaks in that game its rediculous, and they have been in since the start of the game! Read the patchnotes of theirs if you can, almost every other one says 'Identified new memory leak' or ' Fixed known memory leak' I asked in their discussion area why no one was complaining and they said it was useless to complain because KK, their developer, knows everything thats wrong and it has known for 2-3 years so oviously. And said they've learned to live with the bugs :P

It is their game after all, but that doesn't mean they will be able to make EVERYONE happy. For every 5 people made happy, there will be the 1 person who got affected in a negative way from the change. That can't be changed, so theres no way to get rid of whiners without just shutting down the game or banning them
