Actually that is an interesting point.
As the devblogs roll out about things covered in sessions less of the minutes are covered by NDA. Coordinating those sessions so they get released soon after the devblogs is worth considering.
This may have already have occured to you all from an insiders perspective. Has that already been a topic of conversation? Coordinating Devblogs and the release of minutes? It honestly seemed to take you folks by surprise, the early release of information and test server deployments. That could just be due to your following the NDA. There is no eye rolling smiley in the world that is large enough to convey my eye rolliness at this post. Once upon a time you justified hiding behind that alt so that your message "might be considered despite who you are" or some such. Don't worry though - I can't speak for everyone but at this point my opinion would be that any of the fourteen of us would be insane to take you seriously, whatever name you post with. Then your knowledge is seriously faulty. Minutes use(d) to be a way to begin the hype for the upcoming expanions, mainly the next one and hinting into the following ones.
But then, if you think that the minutes are not relevant, that your job writing them and CCP's job reviewing and Ok'ing them is not relevant, and all in all it's a waste... well... you're entitled your opinion and as a Goon you don't need to care **** about what anyone else thinks, yet you're not doing any favor to the CSM, present and future. If what you speak to CCP after traveling to Iceland with our money is not relevant, then you better stay at home and shut up. The Greater Fool Bar is now open for business, 24/7. I like reading the minutes for the little glimpses into the discussions that inform the final designs that it provides. I can post on a forum, therefore I represent everyone. |

I suppose we'll all have to settle for hinting into the following ones and getting little glimpses at how features in Rubicon may have started, then.

There's apparently an evil copy of me about, saying things that I... well... didn't. I mean seriously, where did this "relevance" thing come from? That they're later than years past, yes, that they probably provide less juicy tidbits than you hope for (which may or may not be wrong I guess) yes. That they're irrelevant though?

A seemingly throw away line about POS having an effect on only a small niche of the community lead to a threadnaught and hopefully a course correction from CCP. The minutes are really the only chance most players will have to hear debates like that straight from the Devs, even if it is after CCP has scrubbed them. From the tone of the F&I threads, most features for Rubicon were already well on their way to being done when the summit took place, so there was already little chance for course corrections with Rubicon.
The minutes now are more of a chance for the players to see how the CSM and CCP interact. Which CSM were vocal, which just let issues go, etc. Which CSM seemed to know what they were talking about, which were just happy to be there, etc.

This is pretty incorrect in quite a few cases and is something I hope shows through in the minutes, actually. Member of the Goonswarm Economic Warfare Cabal |

We all hope so too, though by now, the Dinsdales will just think you altered the minutes after CCP already made the changes.

Nah you got it all wrong, the Dinsdales will think the reason it took so long was that we were fabricating entirely new minutes from scratch, in, of course, full cooperation with CCP who naturally are receiving kickbacks from the various nullsec RMT cartels they represent. At this point, I think it is appropriate to ask the CSM some questions:
a. At this point, do the August meeting minutes have any real value? I am having a very hard time believing that, at this point, that the August minutes will have anything exciting to offer. Personally I enjoy the meeting minutes because I pour over them in detail getting excited or agitated about upcoming changes to the game. It gives me a better vision of where CCP is planning focus its attention for the next couple expansions.
So far, however, even if the minutes were to come out today I highly doubt that there would be anything new in them that hasn't already come out, in explicit detail, either from the Features section or in a Devblog.
b. I know there is only so much you can do because of the voluntary nature of the CSM, but what policies does the CSM plan to put in place to try and make sure that such a delay is at least somewhat mitigated. |

Relevant update here:
http://jestertrek.blogspot.com/2013/11/csm8-status-report-week-twenty-six.html
So good news and bad news.
On the good side, minutes are finally done (-ish... one heavily NDA'ed session left). And also Dolan has extracted himself from the fetal position behind his desk and will be looking at them shortly. (He is expected to recover from the recent traumatic events as community rep during the Somer scandals with less brain damage than he self-inflicts during the average fanfest. So probably not noticeable additional impairment.)
Bad news is that aside from something that is likely to remain NDA'ed for quite sometime, all the features of Rubican would appear to be public now. Perhaps there are a few forward looking things that will slip through of interest but the minutes aren't likely to be of much relevance to the future of Rubicon.
Luckily CCP released a lot of info early, so we at least got a chance to evaluate and comment. I do know that the CSM has urged them to do so, I guess that is some consolation for the late minutes.
Anyway, thanks Ripard for the update and thanks all who put in the time to get those done.
Now lets everyone stare at Dolan until he gets his side of it finished... 0.0 |

Taking more time to write 3 days of meetings down than CCP took for finishing and releasing their patch, that is really something. I think I will stop complaining about devs making their "legacy code" excuses since I got into Eve, in comparison they are actually pretty fast. I suggest that they discuss the release of the summer minutes during the winter summit, specially if they aren't released yet.
And if I was a CSM and had been forced to do a stenographer's job just to have it iddling at some table until it has lost any meaning, I would feel a bit disappointed.
