Hi,
I¦m looking for the best ship you can fit in order to have a maximum shield resistances on all 4 damage types, if you include TechLvL2 items + shield skills.
Proposed candidates:
Scorpion, 8 mid slots Rook, 7 mid slots + higher base shield resistances
Remember, goal is to have nearly 100% shield resistances on all damage types: EM => 100% Thermic => 100% Kinetic => 100% Explosive => 100%
What is the maximum you could reach ? What fitting would be used ?
thanks
Kin

Depends on the cap you have. Tech 2 invulnerability fields are probably what you're looking for. Plug the values into the spreadsheet at eve-tanking.com and find out for yourself.

With the new stacking things, this isn't even possible m8. Best you're going to be looking at I would think would be 85%-90% MAX to each resistance.

I agree with Toaster Oven. The Claymore looks beastly .

:P you read my post... The photon scattering field would do only around .5% or less extra resistance. So a Shield booster or someting here would be better TBH.

Huh, wtf are you on about? And you are wrong btw if you're trying to say the EM hardener would do no good. It faces no more stacking penalty than any of the other resists
Anyhow, just ran the numbers on my setup with max skills. EM - 94.296 EX - 90.874 KI - 86.31 TH - 90.874
And just for fun. Substituting 4x Estamel's hardeners + 2x Estamels' Invunerability fields gets you EM - 96.99 EX - 95.184 KI - 92.777 TH - 95.184

No it wouldn't. Hardeners stack depending on the resistance they add to. So while you can't run 8 invulnerability field IIs, you can run one of each hardener and teo invul fields without losing much to stacking penalty at all.

Edited by: Dr Fighter on 14/01/2006 08:22:17 Might be worth checking the eagle, obviously the parts can be upgraded depending on funds..
Eagle with: (5 mids) 1. Dread or better invul (37.5% or better) 2. Dread or better invul 3. EM Hardener (55% or better for the hardeners) 4. EM Hardener 5. Explosion Hardener
Gets all resistances to the 90%'s, i dont have two dreads so i cant test the exact res, but im close with what i have, some excel number crunching helped to guess what that setup would be. If anyone that understands the stacking formula wants to calculate it, im sure it would be a contender

Edited by: Dexter Rast on 14/01/2006 10:54:57 vagabond has the best sheild res of any ship i think, but not sure if your looking for a standard ship like a BS of some description, never realy tried getting the res up much higher, might function with a couple of multispec sheild hardner II`s running, not sure the vagas cap could support them though, would have to check --------------------------------------------- Please use a signature that conforms with the EVE-Online forum rules for signatures - Jacques' |

____________ The cargo bay is overloaded and cannot be made to fit Expanded Cargohold I. It is currently only capable of fitting 8772.12 units and it is currently jammed full with 9558.33 units. |

Nice site, but this made me chortle: "Things you will not find on this site: You will not find any cheats, hacks, scams, ISK sales or any game item, account or currency sales or purchases"
And just to the right a big google ad bar with isk sales and such like :)

I was just about to say that too

Just because you couldn't get a ship to do what you wanted doesn't mean it's a crap ship - it means you're a crap pilot of that ship.
