ok now my setup mostly for solo lowsec or fleetops
4 x light beams 1 x mwd T2 1 x fleeting 20km
3 x local hull inerta 1 x cap powerrelay
2 x speed rig (10%)
gives me arround 6.5 km/s warps in a blink and outruns most things which could hurt me like drones and missiles. And my skills are arround 3 It is not cap stable and need to upgrade the beams to T2.
any suggestions? I'm thinking of switching one local hull inerta to a damage control for fleet or to a heatsink II for solo ops. My optimal is outside webber range and you just need to be damn carefull. And yes I know it's expensive enough to slap a gist MWD on it. Just could'nt find one yet in 0.0. They are not for sale in my area ;( ...eve's worst pirate...

honestly, nos is your worst enemy, along with webbers in my experience.. i would suggest sticking to the guns...

I flew a Sader fitted with...
4x dual light pulse 20k scram, ab sar II, speed mod, heat sink, cpr
A rifter with a web and a small nos oblitterated me. Thats the alst time i fly that setup. On the other hand, the setup i find works outstandingly and lasts a long time (eg several fights, be it winning or running)
4x dual light beam (Aurora) MWD, 20k scram sar II, 2x CPR, Micro Aux
Mines travels about 4 K/s, can tank the guns and the scram with bursts of speed to keep yourself at the range of about 18k/m.
Note: this setup wont do you any good if you have crap skills or no experience flying ceptors in real PVP. I lost a few before i got the idea.

to use that nos you have to be in web range, meaning your dead. Ceptors have to operate >10km against other ships, unless its ceptor on ceptor battles... which are rare.

Any frigate with a small nos will kill you. End of story.

Hi all, I've read this whole thread and frankly still pretty lost.
I keep seeing 100% side changes. Some say web, others say no. Some say armor others say no. Most say MWD but some suggest you don't need it. Well this has left me wondering what to believe.
Background: I've just started playing Eve so I'm very green. I'm interested in the Crusader because I think it looks damn sexy. I have no idea if it will fit my play style or really if it will be any good. I'd like to make it work if possible.
So with that in mind I'm trying to stay focused in my learning to get the skills to fly one.
Use: At the start I suspect I'll mostly be doing PvE so could someone give some good setups for how to fit for that?
But I suspect after a bit of time I'll be wanting to give PvP a bit of a go as well.

I use Crusader both for 0.0 ratting in places where i shouldn't be (local is a bit hostile). And i also use it for 1on1 PVP when i see a target i can kill.
High: 4xDual light II (scorch or multi) Mid: Rep. Fleet 1MN AB, 7km scrambler Low: SAR II, Overdrive, 2xnamed HS
210 dps 2000 top speed
Enough for PVE and enough for PVP if you find the right target.

Well I've finally got the skills to drive a Crusader, yay!
Looking at your setup Horas, would it not be better to go with just a single heat sink + Tracking Enhancer? No loss of diminishing returns + longer range?
Currently I've got a setup like this:
High: 4x Gattling II Mid: Rep. Fleet 1MN AB, Named Webber -or- Scrambler Low: SAR II, Overdrive, Named HS, Named Tracking Enhancer
My question, is the Overdrive worth it? I'm thinking about pulling it for a Damage Control II (assuming it'll fit).
Some things to note: I don't have the skills for MAPC or Micro Warp Drive just yet, working on it. For PvE thinking about pulling the 7km scrambler for something that will help more... maybe something that will increase cap regen? (I've not flown enough to know if this is going to be an issue).
Should I plate my Crusader for PvE? I'm thinking about it... maybe loose the HS.
Is it realistically do-able to do Lvl 2 missions in a Crusader? If you get webbed, do you basically just warp away asap?
Anyway sorry if these are noob questions, but still learning this game.

sorry if i sound stupid, but aren't the primary roles of a ceptor to go fast and lock down targets.
im looking and seeing a lot of ppl saying they get 2k/s-6.5k/s and sounding proud of it.
i've flown a crusader as my primary ship for a few months now and i've come to realise a few things. 1) if you get caught, your stuffed, and i mean it, hostiles will stuff you with whatever ammo they can find, whether it be projectile shells or cruise missiles. 2) if you cant get to a target before it warps off, whats the point of having a scram or even guns for that matter? 3)if your webbed by 1 target and you loose 78-90% of your speed, if your doing 8k/s (which i can get quite easily) your still doing 800-1760m/s and if your orbiting at around 1km, about the only thing that will hit you are missiles, but if your only doing 2km/s, and you get webbed, you drop to around 200-400m/s and at that speed, even blasters and some smaller pulse will desimate you.
Here's my setup, costs about 90M, mostly cause of rigs, but it's worth it.
3 x Dual Light Pulse Laser II 1 x Small Nos II
1 x 10MN MWD II 1 x Warp Scrambler II
3 x Overdrive II 1 x Nanofiber II
1 x Polycarbon Engine Housing I 1 x Dynamic Engine Housing I
I get a max range (with scorch) of 12km with the guns, the nos hits to 6.6km, the scram hits for 2 points and out to 9km, and i can get an orbit speed of 2-3km/s at 1km and upto 8080m/s straight.
This setup has saved my arse many a time, whether it be running a gate camp with a cargo hold full of salvage and loot, or tackling down a target while your buddies bring in the big guns.
About the only thing i stay away from are destroyers, dictors, huggins, rapiers, AF, and punishers.
This setup doles out around 120dps, and can hold ratting ravens even if they are fitting cruise. I've outrun, vagas, sabers and even the odd crow with it and am easily able to kick a ranis's butt. I've even run a gate camp with 8 Large T1 bubbles and a 50 man gate complete with support and snipers, with this setup.
Interceptors are designed for two roles, running gate camps, and catching and holding a target, i dont understand why ppl try and make them into slow pulverising machines, get a bc or hac if you want that.

I lolled. Don't you think your gang would be better off with a recon/hac/tier 1 BS? No matter how many rigs you put on an interceptor, it's still just an interceptor.
My still experimental setup:
4 dual lights II (navy multifreq and scorch) MWD II whatever scram you like/want to pay for OD II DCU 2x CPR
I cringe at putting 2 cprs and only 1 speed mod on, but those guns are hungry, and the setup is more for small gang empire stuff than 0.0 fleet battles.

I think this a good fit for pvp Becouse verry small ship signature and not bad speed and dmg . Maybe someone think what i'm wrong ?

I've just got my Alt into one of these. My first thoughts on its set up was
High: X4 Dual Light Beams II
Mid: MWD 1MN II , 20K Warp Scram
Low: Overdrive Injection T2, X3 CPR II
I've not fitted it so i'm not even sure if it all fits (training for all the T2 mods), But my idea behind this set up was a fleet/gang support ship. Its primary role is to warp scram from long range, and of course its a speed tanker. I'm not too sure what to do with the rigs, i thought about placing cap rigs in there and loosing two CPR's from my lows. Although i doubt i'll have the power grid to place anything else there. If i'm lucky i might get a MAPC and a Armor rep II in. Just ideas here

HI - 4x Medium pulse laser 2
MED - 1MN Micro Warp Drive, AND 10KM Web (if you can fit tech 2 go ahead :-D)
LOW - 2x Micro Auxiliary Power Core, 1x Small Armor Repairer 2, 1x CPU
This is what i am using to good results, with a .35 tracking speed, 6.8x damage mod, and whatever crystal for range ( multifrequency crystals will get you down to 3.5km range so it is a little tight which is why i recomment ultraviolet or standard to get you back up to 7.5 km so you can orbit within that, or radio if you need to shoot under 12 km (furthest away possible without swapping for a enhancer) )
well what is your guys opinion about this setup?

I ended on this setup :
HI 4x Dual light beams with amarr navy standard s
MED 1MN MWD II, fleeting warp scrambler (or other named, too short on CPU)
LOW 1x Overdrive injector II 1x nanofiber internal structure II 1x CPR II 1x Tracking enhancer II
Rigs : Aux thrusters I Low friction nozzle joints I (those two rigs together make the 'polycarbon of the poor')
So, what do I use it for? Mostly lowsec scouting and escort duty. The goal is to have kill tacklers that could get on the convoy and scout ahead or make pursuers loose time. It works at 14km range up to 17km (in falloff), the top speed with my skills is 6150m/s. I hit properly a big ship on MWD and did evade drones for enough time in my opinion. It doesn't repair, but it's not too anoying, there are many stations in lowsec.
Now, what do you think of this setup? -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

This setup costs a little over 20 millions, flys over 5000m/s, is cap stable with over 11km range while delivering nearly 80 dps. Crows cant hit you with their rockets, turrets wont track you and you can hit well at big targets, Other inties might be a problem thouh, but for this kind of action the male is better anyway. I firmly believe that it is the best sader setup available in the game at this time, and i plan on using it a lot in two weeks.
