Some off topic posts were removed.
I would like to add that the EVE Online in-game soundtracks are available on Soundcloud in high quality. CCP Phantom - Senior Community Representative - Volunteer Manager |

There was a survey that everybody was more than welcome to respond to and that clearly showed that people wanted the jukebox removed.
But for sure, there was a lot of thought put into it - but having adaptive music removes the use of the jukebox.
you should use the music from the soundcloud page if you want that. or if you don't like the current track playing, there is a "hack" around it - go to the menu, turn the music volume to zero and up again - and a new track magically appears. Hi,
Consider it done. I'm more than happy to write more tunes.
Regards, J+¦n Hallur
p.s. If you wan't to skip a song, you can enter the settings window (ESC key in the client), lower the volume of the music to 0, and then back up you will get a new random track. Perhaps we should add a skip button somewhere if it is needed. |

I believe Below the Asteroids needs a sequel. Something like Below the Asteroids v. 2.0. Svanhvit Ada | Technical Artist | EVE Online | CCP Games |

Yea, and that Valkyrie Trailer - Below The Asteroids "remix" whatever they call it should be finished at some point if I ever get the time,. Bj++rn Jacobsen | Audio Designer | EVE Online & EVE : Valkyrie | CCP Games | Anything sound related, ask away. |

It should be a highly transcendental piece and be called "Beyond the Asteroids". Svanhvit Ada | Technical Artist | EVE Online | CCP Games |

Cadus Anzomi wrote:Hahaha what joy to read. Really feels great to start a thread where so many devs and Jon Hallur himself replies :D A warm feeling washes through my heart =) Either I-¦m crazy or Jon Hallurs tracks to EVE really rocks =) Can-¦t stop listening to the tracks when I work nightshifts in my securityguard car =) Probably it-¦s both :P
Glad to hear that you would make more music, Jon. And yes, Below the Asteroids (my favourite track) deserves a sequel. This track is EVE and New Eden in a nutshell. I would like to see Theme from Jita be evolved as well. Made it last week in my cheap keybord :P. Really nice tunes. The from Jita just make me feel calm and proud to be a trader.
PS. Please make two tracks as well for me: Gallente sissies and Minmatar rats :P
J+¦n Hallur composes some of the best music I've heard. It was bliss to hear his work in Harpa performed by a symphony. Svanhvit Ada | Technical Artist | EVE Online | CCP Games |

That's some twisting of words and most indeed !! The survey asked if the Jukebox was used, not if people wanted it removed.
Didn't know. I just say what I'm told to say. told... .to ... say .. . must.. comply. . .. . hilmar. .. . . aaargh. Bj++rn Jacobsen | Audio Designer | EVE Online & EVE : Valkyrie | CCP Games | Anything sound related, ask away. |

I'm sorry to tell you this, but your so called adaptive music is crappy technology and needs an overhaul. Of course, no need to believe me... and you won't. I might be the only one who has enough of all the depressing music when docked or moving around and i might be the only one who wants music that keeps me in mood while i move, when i move. If you want to learn how to do it right, write a soft synth and implement procedural music creation. I'm sure the demoscene has made significant advances in this regards, so I will leave it as an exercise for you to figure things out yourself. Yes, this is a very arrogant post. Your so called adaptive music is a joke, dare i say it's a lie you are telling yourself. Syndicate back in 93 had actual adaptive music. You don't. I'd appreciate if you didn't unintentionally insult my coding history. Thanks. Edit: for some reason this pissed me off more than it should.
calling it procedural was a bit overkill yea, but saying that it's adaptive on type of system, sec status and so on, yea it's adaptive to that. I'm not saying it's generated, like a huge synth and trying to compete with other games on the area.
I'm just saying that other people than me, decided that certain systems and certain sec areas should have different music. Bj++rn Jacobsen | Audio Designer | EVE Online & EVE : Valkyrie | CCP Games | Anything sound related, ask away. |

Any changes to the soundtrack?
that track, should still be in EVE too. somewhere. I wasn't very involved in the choice of which tracks plays where so I can't tell where it is located now.
