Good vid. Nice edit, and always good to hear TS, really adds to the atmosphere.
No need for it to be so large though - it's WMV9 at 8Kbps. 1Kbps would have been fine (downloaded TV & movies are this quality), 2K would be very high quality. 8K is just mental, that's DVD bitrate but with a much more modern codec so you're encoding a 15fps fraps source at 2x-4x DVD quality. Doh! File should have been more like 250MB.

Thanks for the nice comments.
Concerning divx/wmv9/filesize.
The movies resolution is 1154*864 (0.99 mpixel) while TV and Movies are 704+576 (PAL Europe) or 720x480 (NTSC DVD). So TV and Movies are 0,345 mpixel. That mains it has 1/3 of the pixels per frame.
And the bittrate was not 8 but 4.6 Kbit/s. It's high and perhaps 3.5 would work without much quality loss (about 1gb) aswell but 2 or 2.5 would make quite a difference in quality.
Concerning divx. I've tried it in the past but wmv9 just gives better quality/filesize for eve movies.

Hehe
Im sorry, but id download the movie if I could, however my puni 56k modem wouldnt handle that methinks.. Im sure its a great video.. But yes, I feel your pain hehe.. Im not 100% sure if im right on this, but by the sounds of it you renderd it in very high quality yes? .. I did so too with Empire War and it went to about 300MB... If you lower the quality abit you can still get a great looking picture for much less space.. Although if its 40 minutes then its seems acceptable..

Finally found the time to d/l it. Watched it and immediatly had this good times feeling over me. One of best trips we made sofar. The logistics deployed together with the contant bashing through road blocks where never seen before in Eve. On top of it we deployed half our dread fleet in the final stages to pickup the experience. Props to ASCN. Although many of you were forced into this war I hope you had as good as fun as we had. Till we meet again

Best movie so far in 2006. And with 800+ download speed, well keep making them this big.

Fast mirror also, more then 2.2 MB/sec. Would have cancelled it if it went at 80 kb/sec like it sometimes does.. but i guess you figured that

and the torrent users dont cancel your uploads as soon as you are done downloading, that kinda is not the purpouse of bittorrent. if you keep it up then everyone will get faster downloads

Pretty nice vid but honestly, I didnt watch it to the end because of 2 things..
first, fleetbattles are only cool to watch for so long, maybe I'm just not in the mood and prefer more intense action.. Editing was excellent how you used the map and stuff. secondly, TOO MUCH GOD DAMN ECM CRAP!!!
Nothing personal to the author, I'm sure you were ordered to abuse it like crazy. I personally hate it with a passion and to see it being constantly used on anything with more than 3 meds is just disgusting.
The state of Eve is just so fubar in some ways. ___________________________ Chicks dig Brutor's |

i am eagerly awaiting the download for 2 main reasons. 1) its a huge file taht the general concensus seem to believe warrants viewing as it is technical good 2) the author claims that if anyone wants to learn pvp it will provide some good ideas umm if u are a noob (and i havent seen this video yet so i may eat my words) i would STRONGLY recommend that ascn will teach u how NOT to pvp -p

words cannot describe my compliments to u as a video producer. The action itself was in my mind breathtaking, as is the strategic deployment of the fleet, the calmness of the ts, teh teamwork employed and the spec on that megathron. - UBER - all round guys

If we all DL with BitTorrent, then leave BitTorrent open, then we can all benefit from each other's bandwidth on this and DL much faster. |

Wow... as impressive as it was to see all those ships go boom. ASCN just kept coming and coming and coming. Good god... That could have gone all for till downtime before all the G were dead or ASCN simply ran out of ships.

I have NEVER been a fan of big fleet fights, and i admit it got a bit too much for me in the ending stages, however the video was top notch. Excellent editing for starters, esp the map updates with the fleet movements. Also, the storyline text was nice and set the mood in an effective manner.
Then we have some really nice TS discipline,i always like some TS in the movie. Finally,we get interesting fights, not only in the sense of an average participant, but from 1st person perspective.
The part where the megathron is tackled and escapes in structure is amazing,as well as the tempest smashing the gatecamp and getting pounded in the process. Awesome work by your support guys in the big fleet battle, they were all over the place and did their job in a wonderful manner.
It almost made me feel like it was MY ship about to go boom.Feeling a part of the action is what makes or breaks any film and this one was truly worthy of the big download, not only as far as editing goes, but the content was amazing as well (and lag was minimal too).
The added bonus for a WWII history addict like myself? It reminded me of a mix between a WWII movie and cyberpunk in space. Calm, organised combat against superior numbers coupled with typical german electro music, syntesizers, and a guitar assault by what i think was most definitely rammstein. Esp the cover on "Boots" with the sound of marching troops in the background as the song ends was pretty cool. Even if i didn't know where G come from,i would be thinking "Wow,these are Germans going to war for sure" and it is nice when the video speaks for the players involved not only with its content and editing, but also with the overall feeling. I got an urge to start playing Silent Hunter III again and sink allied shipping

Just to make this absolutly clear. The music was by KMFDM (I didn't know them until a couple of weeks before making the video). If you do some research they are definitly not like Rammstein. :)
They are more like anarchic/leftwing music (well more anarchic :).
Of course the music get's your heart pounding but you definitly got the wrong impression there. :) "Boots" is actually more like a comic remark. ____________
Anyway thanks for the other nice comments :).

KMFDM, is that the name of the bang which could be heard in the early beginning of the movie? at 2:37 - right after the beeping sound and f*cked up tv screen?

Oi! The final battle was a bit long, but very cool. Awesome video all around.
Oh, and dont touch the resolution, I loved it! I could actually read the text on the screen and make out exact ship types by their icons, brilliant!

All I have to say is:
That MWD'ing Tempest Pilot has some real balls :D The close quarters mining op breakup was one of the highlights. Really shows what PvP is all about.
