I'm thinking of connecting my palmtop to the net via bluetooth on my phone, and using remote desktop to change skills and such.
My question is, does anyone have any experience with any Windows Mobile based remote desktop programs, and can recommend any, particularly any experience using one with Eve?

Edited by: Del ReyII on 18/01/2006 10:20:08 Unfortunately Windows Remote Destop doesn't support 3D. So using Remote Destop is out of the question. VNC does, but its very slow. I tried it on a PocketPC 400MHz Fujitsu PocketLOOX0 over wifi and VNC worked for changing skills but it was very very slow. Think Jita on a Sunday evening and multiply x10. The newer PocketPC's such as the Dell Axim V50x and so on may be better due to the better graphics processor and CPU.
I used the free VNC, but I doubt you will fair any better with REALVNC.

If it's possible to do a remote connection and change skills using mobile desktop (a la http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=205592) then there surely must be a remote connection capable of supporting it that would run on Windows Mobile, on a top of the range iPAQ, I'd think. Although the internet and google dont want to let me find anything.
Firefoxx: eve-search doesnt seem to think so, but feel free to provide a link rather than a useless reply :)

Citrix can do it, but the price for this kind of application is way too high..
Hmm, maybe somebody should make a EVE-mobile service with a Citrix. Just a server + eve-client and everyone could use java client to change skills from anywhere... --- Home, sweet home. |
