How about a missile that has an ECM burst...could break target locks or disrupt weapon tracking?

Haven't really done too much deep thinking about this...there's probably some obvious exploit potential somewhere.

Just thought it would be nice boost to the variety of missiles which exist..but all just go ..WWHHHHOOOOOSSSHHHH BANG!

I'd rather see hybrid missiles do combo damage. Like 50/50 thermal/explosion or something. I mean, not necessarily extremly good. But cool combos :)

Problem with this is getting a lock takes 7 sec in some cases and losing a lock in battle means all guns stop firing while you re-aquire. Would be very frustrating for all as I'm sure everyone would use them. Weapon disruptor missles would be very cool though, knocks down tracking spd for a bit, temporary drop in combat effectiveness, these should probably have a large enough blast radius that they can easily catch the shooter in the effects as well. (5k) Effects should only be a 10% drop for 30 sec or so as the missles will probably be firing every 10 sec or so, constant barrage will keep weapons at 20 - 30% lower performance.

regarding the weapon disruption idea. I think the better solution would be to integrate specific targetting on a ship. Allow the player to target weapons, propulsion, shields, etc. I realize combat is so intense and short that most the time this would not be used. However I've encountered a few fights, the longest lasting over 15 mins (hawk (me) vs. myrm) And specific targetting would have been crucial in that fight.

ECM missiles would be awesome, you'd likely have to have a special launcher with a very high refire rate. That would also open up the field for more frequent use of defender missiles. (priceless if you know how and when to use them) Maybe have an ECCM defender missile or something of the sort.

I'd like to see a special missile launcher that only uses specialty missiles. Defenders, EW missiles, anti-drone "cluster" FoF missiles, AoE missiles, whatever. That way the guys with one missile hardpoint on their ship and no real bonuses to missiles can get a little utility instead of just dealing 3 more DPS.

i'd like to see a missile that breaks off into 300 rockets and is loaded into a siege launcher
