Yeah title is vague.
I'm wondering - out of pure curiosity - which is considered the "best" region in EvE, ISK wise.
1. I've heard people say Delve and Fountain due to Moon Goo. Can someone please explain to me why would those 2 regions be better for moon goo than other regions? Why would 2 regions out of i-don't-know-how-many have the best moons that would yield the best profit.
2. Why do people fight over Delve and Fountain so much? I mean, there have been 20948842 alliances that died in Delve. Delve is like the graveyard of alliances in EvE. It's clear that Goonswarm will reach that end sooner or later - but what I'm interested is why? Why is Delve cursed to be the downfall of any inhabitant living there?
3. If not taking moon goo into account (though I'm really curious how some moons can dictate the balance of worth so clearly) - which would be the best region an alliance would want to live in an why?
4. What the hell happened to BoB? Few years ago they were insanely present everywhere, owning everything and making shitloads of cash. I took a break and suddenly, no BoB. What happened there?
I'm not a troll, I am actually very interested in the real answers to these questions so if you want to troll, just call my mother fat and move on. This actually puzzles me and I am really interested in knowing why do people consider Delve and Fountain as the "richest" (or best) regions in EvE.
(few years ago the trend was that Drone Regions wore the most valuable ones, why did things change?)

1. Some regions needs to have the best moons. Delve and Fountain have historically had the most R64s, which were the most valuable until the Dominion expansion, and are now again since...one of the most recent expansions, forget the exact one.
2. People generally fight more over that which is worth fighting more over.
3. Some balance of access to hisec and truesec status (for rat value).
4. Goons, PL, and NC defeated them.
Drones were never considered the most valuable.

Thanks for the time reading this post and looking forward to serious answers.
1) Moon goo was randomly distributed, so there had to be two regions that were the best. They just happened to be Delve/Fountain.
2) Delve and Fountain have some of the best ratting space and best moongoo in the game, so they're highly sought after. Delve has served as the capital of several powerful empires (BoB, Goons) and some not-so-powerful (Test) because the space is great. When they fall, it's the home regions that get the rap.
3) Probably Delve/Fountain. Broken truesec and pirate missions. Delve less so because neuts suck.
4) Goons killed them and took their place. |

the best region is dependant on it's location/logistical problems, moons, local rats, neighboring alliances and probably some other factors I don't know about.

Actually Goonswarm already died in Delve. Anyway, the best region is Solitude, or maybe Aridia. |
