Edited by: Jayden Lancia''Yu on 21/01/2006 17:11:01 Hi,
I'm a carebear miner. Today I warped to the Villore gate in Old man Star system in Essence and was shot at by 5 BS's from 'Black Ops' Corp (-10 guys). During the 60 seconds it took me to crawl to the gate under fire in a indy (had 5 local hulls on) I somehow survived.
Now, they failed to kill me, but smacked in local when i came back in a shuttle to get a blueprint.
I just find it incredible how 5 battleships flown by five -10 (50mil+ bounty guys) could a) fail to kill a indy crawling 15km to a gate then b) have the audacity to smack talk ME in local.
Remember im a MINER. I have no use for guns.
So this is an open invitation for any pvp corp that is tired of noobs in bs's running around low sec empire thinking they are tough. Theres about 400mil in bounties on them, if you have time, they live around that area.

why in the world would you take a indy with 5 local hulls, into low sec... without real good instajumps?
though 5 BS's being unable to take it down is even more perplexing.

Well, one of their members was surprised my Kestrel could kill his barge, pod, and loot his can while his alt's Moa tried to hit me, so I wouldn't expect too much from them.

Huh?
Look at Old Man Star on the map, it's a 0.3 system that pretty much dead-ends off of high sec. It's multiple high-sec jumps to any other low sec.
So, these -10s are are stuck there, or the fly their pods around leaving ships docked there or they are teh Uber and can tank concord/sentries the whole way back to some other low sec.
If just just logon/logoff in OMS to do their camping, well that's gotta be pretty boring. But if they did enough killing to get stuck there, that pretty funny. -- Beware the Intaki Redhead of Doom! Meow! I'm looking for a good corp, check my bio. |

What are you talking about? OMS is 2 jumps from a lowsec hub. To answer the OP's question, we were engaged with 2 hostile ravens at the time you came through. The three of us were a, not all in battleships, and b, not all shooting at you. Get your facts strait next time.

To indicate that BOPS wasn't really targetting you, have a look at the stats on the Red Alert killboard. I don't think you can call us noobs with 1195 kills in one month's time. When not to post a link to your killboard, and claim that last month's stats prove you're not noobs:
1) When a lot of your kills are noobships. 2) When a lot of your kills are haulers. 3) When the rest of your kills are pods. 4) When the last month's stats include a mass suicide by the lemming squad. 5) When you only fly battleships and choose the above as targets. -------------------------------------------------- - Suhadi |

I came across a gate camp in Aeschee a few weeks ago it was 2 WOR players 1 in a geddon the other in a mega so I thought id have a go even though I was only set up for mission running. Got the geddon to structure and the poof warped off, so i then started attacking the mega, in the mean time the geddon & another BS think it was another geddon warped in, got the mega to hull and he warped out so started on the 1st geddon agon again. Again got him to hull he warped out by this time i had 0 cap left and could no longer tank and ended up going pop. These guys are rubbish pvp's they only work in numbers 1 vs 1 or even 2 vs 1 I would have had no trouble taking them out, especially if i had been setup myself for pvp as they wouldnt have been able to warp out. I have a pvp char and only ever hunt solo these gankers are useless on there own.

I myself am a pirate and have seen some pretty bad smacktalk coming from A LOT of pirates. Some pirates I gang with just say the most absurd things like when 1 month people run from our 10 man gank fleet they call them pussies and all manner of insults in gang chat. Sure its not directly to them but nonetheless, if you are 1 month old and are running from a 10 man gank fleet your not a ***** your smart. However people need to regulate the difference between smack and jokes. Some dude killed me in a system a few days back, and I type in local:
"ZOMG U R TEH H4XX0R! PH34R MY POD!"
and he starts accusing me of smacktalking. Some people are just retarded.

Regarding the comments of people having no honor or whatever it was, for not fighting "fair":
Never, ever, fight on your enemy's terms. It will only get you killed.
These people are not out to just murder people (though it is a secondary thing to what they do), they're out to make money. That "nub" might be an alt moving shiny things for his main. Those battleships drop really nice mods sometimes.

Yeah, just avoid old man star system. It cuts off a couple of good trade routes, but as near as I can tell, their main tactic is to snipe and gate camp. I lost a new cruiser to them but that was my fault. I figure eventually one of the anti-rat corps will go down there and clean house.
I suppose I should give them some credit, they did kill my first cruiser.

OMS is close to Oursalaert, and I bet it gets a lot of noob traffic. I know was a week in when I started getting hauling missions to that place. Boy, that would have been a good day's work! They might have gotten 7 Hydrogen Batteries and an afterburner off me!
Fortunately these 'pirates' are too dumb to keep their mouths shut in this forum about their activities and location, so I knew better than to try my luck.

Heh I was in OMS yesterday too, funny system, there were 12 (!) pirates waiting for their victims. 3 were on Villore gate, another two at station I was docking to and I believe others were at Ladistier gate too, cos there was a corpse when I was leaving.
You really shouldnt go to OMS with indy or barge. Its known dangerous system, which is camped very often. But GJ surviving that, either you were lucky or they are really poor pirates.

Quote: lol, 1195kills on a month with more than 1 corp on that killboard and sniping low-sec pirates is not that hard. I could make that on my own in a month sniping in vecamia.
And where would this kill board of yours be located? Don't have it? Ooooh, shame on you! First go get the kills, then reply. Remember: at least 1196 kills in 1 months time without sniping (we weren't sniping you see).
Do you have the guts? Try, and then come back replying to this.... --- I'm not as bad-ass as some of my corp mates, but I'll pwn you anyway!

Made the mistake of going to Lisbaetanne to buy skillbooks in my Cara a few weeks ago, and long story short I've got killrights on Amandy. I want her corpse, send me an evemail if you wish to talk details. I make no profession to want to do PvP, but those that do let me know. I'm not going to call names or point fingers, as enough has been said about them...

Hi,
I'd like to add some, & make a suggestion.
I'm in CAS, the Gallente rookie corps, & can confirm a lot of our new members get podded, & continue to get podded, in OMS. They've tried & failed to clobber me in my Thorax twice now, & avoiding the place is sometimes painful if you've the wrong agent who gives you Storyline missions etc there.
Since a lot of the podded players are only days old, low on funds, & not resigned &/or excited by the brutality of Eve's pvp, many of them are none too happy.
I've been considering getting a mob together to go & give the OMS pirates a good kicking, but have learnt that to actually pod them in revenge costs a hefty security standing hit. That might be painful for a new player planning a lawful career, but somehow just destroying their ships would feel insufficient - after all, they'd just get another.
I've had a second hand conversation with one of the campers, whilst I was orbitting Villore-OMS stargate (on the Villore side!) spamming a warning (largely ignored) not to go to OMS, funnily enough :)
It seems the campers (of two corps I think) have a POS (or two?) in OMS. Such was their only reasonable argument for podding noobs.
I imagine destroying their POS, or even just finding its location, would put a bigger damper on the pirates' day than anything else that might be done.
Would any of the people who've offered to cause havoc in OMS be capable of doing this, & willing to?
Eyam.
Too new to have any other sig.

Gotta agree with everyone here - as most of you pirates will know, the "carebear technique" can catch us all out at times, i.e. pwning someone, then they come back with about 50,000 ships and offer you out, ROFL!
Well, I've seen this FROM BOPS on numerour occasions.... we PWN them (in about 10 secs, LoL), then they come back in a bout 10 BS's and wanna fight.
Carebears = 4TL, BUT.... pirates who act like carebears are so UN-L33T it's untrue!

i must admit, Cristobel of this corp, the only member i have ever seen was a tiny bit retarded when i jumped in to see him there at 350km. I warp out, start making bm's, warp in again, warp out, got one wrong, have to go in again. So on about the 4th warp in and after about 4 or 5 minutes im on top off him. Needless to say he died quickly. Youd think he would realize im up to something but apparently not.

I was sitting hours on end the night before i lost it. There were constantly 10+ of you in local and you couldnt do a thing. I tanked your 4 BS and BC for what, 4 minutes before i jumped out. I was desperate for action too, engaging 4 battleships would have been silly but i did offer any of you 2 guys a 1v2, which you declined.
The 5 or so guys who entered local, were not my friends, simple as that. But when the opportunity arose, i offered them help in catching one of your members.
Btw, how is my post smack talk? Cristobel was retarded. His excuse was that he was watching the tele, how is that not stupid? Admittedly i was stupid the very next day to lose my ship, just my satisfaction for action had to be quelled. I didnt expect any sort of trap from you, seeing as you hadnt tried any before but you still didnt manage to save one of your members armageddons before taking me down with 8 or so battleships.
But yes, i was stupid for losing my ship but so too are most of you. I look forward to seeing you guys during the weekend in any case.

So sitting on a gate under sentry guns is a need for action? even when the guys aggro'd you you wouldnt respond
hardly a need for action..
As for the 1v1 or 2, when one of ours met up with you at the planet your five backup mates were there, and he still got out in one peice.
Stupidity is warping in on top of a ferox in a cruiser and not warping straight out again like I did yesterday (Yes I got podded )
Sittting under sentry guns doing nothing for hours is just lame

They decline my offer for a 1v1, and when i happened to meet 1 of them at a planet, i started doing the whole 1v1 thing, but he used ECM drones so i told the guys in local there was a free gank at the planet.
If you read what i said, it clearly says that i wasnt going to engage 5 ships 1v5.
"Sittting under sentry guns doing nothing for hours is just lame", funny, i thought thats what you guys do all day. You even stay at the gates when you are AFK, apparently.

Either
A. get into a corp that protects you
B. get your corp to join a alliance that protects the space you are in.
Hope this helps... -----------------------------------------------

Wow, this sure got out of hand really fast.
On the record, the views of several members of the 9th alliance do not represent the views of the whole. We will have no father action in this topic, on the grounds that some of us have a knack for digging ourselves deeper into holes without thinking about everyone else. Any <9th> members can expect an earful from me if they continue this pointless argument. Please do not paint every pirate in the alliance with a broad brush.

First smart post i am reading in this thread.
Nevertheless, the actions / comments / views of single members will always reflect back to the corp and alliance. Unfortunately, for the most part, people tend to remember negative things. ...you can run away, you will just die tired. |
