what was the last major tournament that england won?
How many times have we actually managed to get into the final?
How many times have we ever even made the semi final of a major tournament?
I rest my case.
FACT 1 quater finals last world cup against brasil, lost to a flukey goal from ronaldinho.
FACT 2 quater finals against portugal, sol campbell has a perfectly good goal disallowed, the ref of that game Subsequently retires.
so yeah we are good enough to win any tournement, its just no one likes the english
quoting 'flukes' and refs having a bad game to disprove my argument is silly.
the FACT IS the last tournament England won was FORTY YEARS AGO. oh and even that was contested because of a decision made by the linesman.
and yet if you were to believe that the players were actually worth the money they get paid then there shouldnt be a tournament cup left in the world thats not in our trophy cabinet. Instead of which we have 'nearly' won and 'only just lost' or 'well, we're up there with the the top teams in the world.'
that means nothing. the players are not hungry enough and I firmly believe its because of the money they are paid. and thats why I dont bother with the premiership any more.
seriously you watch a non-league or lower league match. its so much more enjoyable.
dude.
that is the most flawwed arguement i have ever seen.
england fail because their players are paid too much.
every other country out there that has won or contended for any major trophy also has a team full of very well paid people.
brazil: Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto carlos, Kaka, Adriano, Cafu. Italy: Fabio Cannavaro, Christian Vieri, Francesco Totti and Alessandro del Piero, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Nesta, Maldini, Buffon, Taldo, France: Zidane, Henry, Pires, Viera, Thuram, Cisse, Trezuget, Claude Makelele Spain: Fernando Torres, Raul, Guti, Iker Casillas, Carles Puyol Argentina: Juan Pablo Sorin, Juan Roman Riquelme, Crespo, veron
those players are the only ones i could think of off the top of my head.
each team apart from the smaller countries in terms of football (and there are exceptions like Ukraine with Shevchenko and co) are chock a block with ú40k+ per week players. -------------------------------------------------- BNC + KIA = The Ultimate Drunken Retard
