Other stuff I can agree with, but this one. Maybe it's lack of skills in fighters or modules that aren't in game as of yet, but watched fighters MELT a dread the other day. If anything I think you will oneday... maybe not soon, but one day see fighters get hit with the nerfbat.
ps in my opinion as someone who has actually engaged carriers and a mothership in pvp, dropping/recalling fighters needs a cycle time.
they should get some compensation for their stupidity, first thing fighter does to a target 100km away is to mwd in a straight line. a group of battleship seeing does fighters would probably kill half of them before they arrive at target.

Are fighters purely 0.0 or can they be used in .4 and below as well?

Anyone know if you can set up a shield and armor repair drone on a fighter and send it into battle?? Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Number 1 in the Hood, G |

Has anyone actually tested the ability to refit in range of the carrier?
I'll try to grab my corpmate and test this asap.

Edited by: Sforza on 12/02/2006 03:31:40 Edited by: Sforza on 12/02/2006 03:30:02 Another bug discovered this evening.. its impossible to assign fighters to the pilot you want to in very large gangs.
This evening, BoB had a gang with over 100 pilots in it, and when it came time to deploy fighters, the delegate control list only displayed (at most) 20 of them and it wasnt scrollable either. Which was a complete pain in the backside.
Please CCP : Consider making the fighters assignable from the gang window via Pilot > Assign fighters.
In answer to the above question.. we've tried out refitting and it seems to work.

Well tonite I found 2 more bugs, and reported them both. This is just to warn other carrier pilots. The first bug I found was that Templar drones orbit outside scoop range which makes them hard to get back in the ship. The second major thing I found out was that it is VERY easy to lose your fighters if you get disconnected while you have them out. If you disconnect your ship will fly off, the fighters will follow to the SS 1 mil km away from your origianl location. Your ship will then disappear and you wil lose control of the fighters. Then when you log back in your ship will warp off leaving your fighters 1 mil km away and pretty much impossible to get to. So don't disconnect guys!!

Ouch.. that 2nd bug is very nasty. 9 x 20m worth of fighters lost in space isnt a pleasant thought. Thanks for the tip off. Sforza

i tested it, u can refit 2,5km arund it.. u can scoop your ship inside, board other ship inside, or eject other ship in carrier, to fit something, first you drag it from carriers corp hangar, into your ship hangar, and u need to have "show empty module slots ON" , you drag module from ur cargo directly on slot/or from it. It fits instantly, not reducing any cap. To dock ship, it must have empty cargo hold 0.o, but i undocked fitted zealot with ammo in it. Also one bug or whatever it was, carrier can only support 1 pilot refiting, i tried to refit, and therer was one other pilot in range, and i got one silly msg . And i belive he was just in range, not using carrier.
I was also thinking about carrier in past few days, realized that they are just cool, size of ship space to dock is OK!, beside its support ship not mothership or something, allthro size of docking atleast 1 bs would be ok .
Regarding tanking carrier, tbh they can tank good, still u won't drag it to frontline anyway, but in small engagements, against few BS's u should be just ok.

All together: 1259.96 Dp/s of a lvl 4/4 on carrier skilled pilot. Same value goes for Amarr and caldari using same drones.
But, the same skilled Thanathos pilot push out 1762.6 Dp/s
Does this sound fair to you, TomB?
Well, atleast amarr and caldari get 20% all resistances... *sigh*
Total minmatar screwover, yet once again
Won't someone think of the boneheads for a once?!
On a serious note..
For now I will get my Minmatar carrier but honestly as soon as I'am ready I'll be upgrading to a Thantos because of the drone damage bonus.
5% reduction in Shield and Armor transfer duration per level just sounds like you ran out of ideas for useful bonuses and stuck this in because as always the Minmatar are used to crap.
After, all the damn training that we do it would be nice for once to see a benefit come out of it, - MadBoy
