Edited by: Zeneith on 23/01/2006 00:11:18 what kind of lame *** comement was that? they should be implememnted because if you take any notice generally all the other MMO's out there have SOME sort of a AFK indicator.
I meant not to start a flame war or anything but dude come on you know thats not the reason they are not implemented in EVE yet.

Just because lots of people propose an idea, it doesn't mean that it is a good one. -------------------- This solution to BM-related server resource usage can reduce lag with the same interface. |

First of all, if my ship is adrift I don't want people to know I'm AFK... that would just make me a target.
Second of all, when I go AFK I just tell the people I'm with that I'm "AFK" or "BRB", and it's not that hard to do.
Third, if your going to be AFK for an extended ammount of time: LOG THE **** OFF and free up the servers for those of us who are trying to Actively Play.

to the OP - the devs are obviously gonna be more likely to pay attention when u use caps in title and when u use multiple exclamation marks.

There are over 100 000 paying subscribers. 293/100000=0.00293. That's 0,3%.

WHY HAVE AN AFK INDICATOR
Here's a good one - it would give the server a nice bit of information about who isnt playing so packets can be prioritized to those who are. This could even mean that if the person is DOCKED in station and afk for more than 2 hours the server could disq them to save network resources. |

Devs do read this thread and add our suggestions tractor beams is one such example. However if they don't agree then they won't put it in.

another thing...
If your being camped or hunted and need to afk for some reason, you dont wanna tell them you are afk so they can go off and hunt other people. You wanna waste as much of their time as possible to really annoy then
