Edited by: Ankanos on 23/01/2006 02:37:02 Hi, some friends wish to anchor a tower and some moon minng gear at a moon in a .3 system, but apparently an anchored secure can is preventing them from doing so.
is this possible? or do they just need to move the tower to the other side of the moon or something... or is this a bug..
any clues would be appreciated.

edit: apparently, the error msg says they have to be 150km away from it but when they move 150km away, it says no moon to be found.. --- |

I believe if you petition it a GM will remove it for you. At one point it was an "exploit" but I'm not sure if it is anymore. |

do remember that cans have a greatly reduced HP count. so slap on a target painter, get out some blasters and blow that biatch out of the sky

yes, we were about to leave some laser ships on it (giants have 500k hp) but at blastomy's suggestion, we petitioned it and it was removed.
apparently can-parking is an exploit of sorts.. to leave a can at an POS anchoring spot, that is.
thanks again blastomy. :)
-and to the GM's for the prompt response :)

Edited by: Vishnej on 23/01/2006 07:41:11 The GMs have said that this is no longer an exploit - can hp was lowered and can sig radius was raised.
When they were near-invincible, yes, but not any more - all it takes is a few minutes of blowing it up.

Though they will still unanchor it for you and you could scoop it for yourself at a station when they do.

well we scanned it, it was empty. rather than start a conflict with the corp that owned it (it was one of those "0m6 w3 4r3 |337 4nd w1|| 88q 4|| wh0 4pp053 u5" pvp corps that we really did not care to alert our presence any sooner than needed, we petitioned it and it was removed.

They were never near invincible... couple of amarr bs and lasers and the giant secures would still eventually pop... sure its easier now, but cans were only ever 1mil? hp

Do tractor beams effect them? I mean, if they do... easy fix.

why not just put your POS out of range of the cans? or is it because they are anchored that you can't place your POS? ________
