Creating a thread so you guys have somewhere to talk about this feature since you are going to get a look at it with the build going out today.
What you are getting today is still extremely raw as we are basically smack in the middle of implementation as this goes out. That said, we would love any feedback you guys have on this feature, especially related to the design/content/usability of it. Some of these things will be changing/improving as we add more over the coming weeks, but don't hesitate to share what you think in the current state.
Thanks! |

We are going to be putting ISIS to the test regarding usability in a week or so where we will evaluate how users respond to the way navigation works in it and how they respond to using the info bubbles to get information about factions, ship groups and ships.
Your feedback until then will help us decide which areas to focus our efforts in these user testing sessions.
This project has been a labour of love for team Game of Drones and we truly believe it will assist players in setting progression goals and deciding which ship to take out for a spin. CCP Arrow-á-á|-á Game Design Director -á|-á-áEVE Online -á|-á-á@CCP_Arrow |

And you can even see the ship moving in the background if you clic on the preview image. (You need to quickly resize the preview before the ship appears though)
I just don't get why some races have the ship moving from left to right while some pirate factions have the ship staying at the center-right to move toward the player and dissapear at center-left.
No, really, cool stuff. I don't like the way threes are displayed for pirate / ore factions though, as it let newbies think that there are plenty of ships for them where this is just false.
Also, you'll have to resize all the icons when SOE will be added to this shiny feature :o
The pirate factions trees are not finished, complete work in progress. We are thinking of ways to clarify the way in which they are shown.
The backgrounds are placeholder, that's why some of them are wrong, we are discussing some things.
Also the ship moving in the background is another, work in progress idea.

I think the Sansha carrier is missing as well. Also on a side note: Will all the special editions appear in ISIS?
Special edition ships won't appear in there no, ISIS only shows ships that can be manufactured and acquired through regular means. |

Can you define displaced? A screenshot would be great.

Thanks, this is great. Will raise this with CCP Optimal and CCP Arrow when I get the chance.
LtCol Laurentius wrote:Ships you dont have the skills to fly should really be greyed out even if you have the necessary skills partially trained. Also. if you dont have the skills to fly a ship, any mastery Level is irrelevant and shouldnt be displayed imo. Keep it clean.
This is intentional. The idea behind this is, "Hey you could fly this ship really well, why not just train up the requirements"
Also as a general addendum, there is still some visual work to be done, and the hover over for ships include dummy data. Not real data. All the groups and factions however have final data. Feel free to poke me on: Twitter |

Lair Osen wrote:http://i.imgur.com/NQTicLJ.png The displacement seems to have some connection to the windowed and fullscreen modes, when i switch between them, the problem sometimes fixed itself and sometimes didn't. Edit: more testing: OK so the problem always appears after going to windowed mode THEN resizing the window from the resolution it defaults to. going back to full screen usually fixes it
Also my Vargur Model is screwed up, seems to only be some kind of transparent outer skin, not sure whats going on there either
Dig some digging and It's UI scaling. Defected and should get fixed. (thanks for raising this!) Also the Vargur model is not related to the ISIS, but I spoke to the CCP Vertex and he'll look into it. Feel free to poke me on: Twitter |

Allright, fair enough about the masteries. However, ships that you cant actually fly gets highligted because you have the prereqs partially trained. It creates a false impression.
For example, if you have "transport ships" trained but only one race industrial 5, the ISIS still displays as if you could fly all 8 transports, when in reality you can only fly 2 (this isnt about masteries, its about prereq skills)
Quintessen wrote:I'm getting ships being highlighted that I can't actually fly. I'm imagining that's a bug.
Yep indeed.
Some ships have been authored incorrectly (being fixed), such as the Moroes.
While other groups don't have all of their prerequisite skills authored correctly so the groups are highlighting ships that shouldn't be available (because you have one of many prerequisite skills). Have some pending work to resolve this.
Thanks for keeping your eyes peeled for these things. Feel free to poke me on: Twitter |

It's Moros, you pathetic meatbag Not some kind of weird name made to rhythm with "oh noes here are the Moroes!"
First saw you type that on an internal defect, and I let it slip because we're team buddies, but I cannot let this pass a second time. Do it a third time and bad things are going to happen at the office. |

We've got A LOT of really good work done on the ISIS based on the feedback you guys provided. You should hopefully see most of it today (depending on where the Singularity client gets updated from).
Till then keep it coming! |

Aaric Altair wrote:Please oh please let me drag and drop ships from the ISIS ship browser directly into the Compare tool window. Also, please enable drag and drop from information windows into the compare tool window. This was one of the first things I tried to do, and sadly it failed. Instead I had to go to the market and drag and drop the ships/modules. Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=po13BnCd-dk#t50m35s
Good point, we'll ask around if that can be done. |

Some fixes to the Certificate and ISIS.
Particularly:
CCP Ytterbium wrote: 9 - Talked with CCP Karkur - she used her magic to fix the Compare Tool window. You can now use drag and drop ships from the ISIS (or from ship show info) directly in the compare tool.
So don't forget to thank her for that! |
