wouldn't jove have its own high sec empire? also i ponder as to how jove characters will be able to start either by first being another race character and after certain level / skill points / skill pack training be able to become jovian or a need to only be able to become a jove by starting a char from scratch.

Very early in the game, Oracle the corp I belonged to partipated in an event where we joined up with a renagade Jovian General and fought I believe a Jovian fleet. Of course we all died but it was fun.

Jove empire was opened for public, yes. It is not opened now, yes.
Now it is tournament grounds. Remember in the news there was something about it. On the movies later (archives on tournament fight) i saw that they tooked place in jove directorate sovereign space.
Also what comes to my mind are Jovian connections with plot. We all know they are most powerful of the races. U dont agree check out chronicles and Amarr-Jove battle...
There is a war at stake in eve universe and i think making Jove space un accessible may have something to do with that.
We may soon witness Jovian armadas flying through empire space probably.
Also u must note that not only Jove empire is off-limits. Check east from jove and south-east. There are two bigger systems locked.

Originally by: Benilopax The Jove are the fifth race to colonize the eve galaxy. They deemed the other four races as inferior. And cut themselves off from them. In there self induced exile they discovered pod technology as well as a way to reproduce asexually.
Amarr attempted to conquer Jove space but were decimated by the Jove mothership.
Since then, and the caldari aquistion of pod tech, little has been heard of them.
Well that is not completely the truth. There are some Jove stations scattered around empire space :)

The Interstellar Services Department are a division of CONCORD and the Polaris-class frigates are a special CONCORD-only design.

Who would even think of trying to figure out how to produce asexually?

Originally by: kieron The opening of Jovian space and characters as a playable race are slated as a post-Kali expansion. As of this moment, I do not have a time frame for the release of this expansion. There is a lot of work that needs to be done, including balancing of Jovian player characters, the creation of more Jovian ships, modules, weapons and storylines/fiction, the population of Jovian space, and testing, testing, testing.
Right now, the Jovian ships that exist in the Eve database are placeholders. They have been around in this form since the day Eve went live. At that time, they were the best ships in the universe but with the addition of new ships, new ship classes, and tech level 2, it is apparent that they have a lot of massaging that needs to be done. Currently there are no Jovian items in the database that I'm aware of.
That reply sold another 1k subscriptions It wasn't a no anyway _______________________________________________

When you mean 'post kali' you mean a decade from Kali, right? There's no reason to expand the current universe, with content updates and active, moving storylines there's no reason we can't find enough to do in 5000 systems.
I swear that promise has 'jumped the shark' written all over it. ------ I generally assume the following: 1. 95% of Empire Carebears don't get 0.0 PVPers. 2. 95% of 0.0 PVPers don't get Empire Carebears. 3. 100% of Ore Thieves steal just to upset the Miners. |
