I've been in my typhoon for a few weeks and have been running missions in it. It does alright but something needs to be changed. I'm looking for the best mission set up for it. Here is what I have on it...
Hi- 1 400mm autocannon (L) 2 720mm artilleries (M) 1 1400mm artillery (L) 4 Heavy launchers (I'll be able to use torpedoes and cruise missiles in a week)
Med- 1 100mn afterburner (for deadspace missions) 1 target painter 1 stasis web 1 sensor booster
Low- 2 geosyncronizers 3 energized plating 1 1600mm plating 1 armor repair
This is kind of lame I know, that's why I'm posting this question. What needs to be changed and what do I need to change it to?

need more damage and dont mix arty with autocannons. 1400 on a tanking typhoon is a bad idea.

Typhoon is one of the best npcing ships around imo, since it can run with little ammo.
I'll give out my NPC setup for ya to make it easy. (this is for 0.0 with battleships, if you are only doing level 3's, then switch out sieges, for cruises)
my high and mid slots are fairly consistant
4xsiege 1xlarge nos 1xsmall tractor *a must* 1x425 or cloak (if in really nasty 0.0) 1x720mm
1xab 2xcap rechargers 1xtarget painter
lows you have a few options
high resists
1xlarge t2 repper 3xhardeners 1xcpr 1xadaptive nano t2 1xdamage control (since stacking penalty doesnt hit it) or 1600mm plate
fast repair i find best for level 3's, keep med running always, so if you crash your still alive most of the time
1xlarge t2 repper 1xmed t2 repper 3x hardeners 2xcpr or pdu if needed
0.0 wuss
1xlarge t2 repper 3xhardeners 1xwcs 1xcpr 1x1600mm plate
yes i know this skips bonus's, but my 5 heavy / 5 med drones in bay do more consistant damage then putting a rack of guns up top, and low low ammo needs = more loot to carry

I must be stupid but how can you even kill a battleship with this?
4xsiege 1xlarge nos 1xsmall tractor *a must* 1x425 or cloak (if in really nasty 0.0) 1x720mm
Seem like it would take you for ever and cost alot in missiles. Much easier to either mount 4x425 or 4x1400 and be done with it. Get a mwd to get the loot faster.

thank you so much. I will take that and apply it. (I also heard something about the devs changing the typhoon bonus to missiles anyway)

even without a bonus the missile's do more damage then the guns. 150 dps of 4x 650's iirc, oh and autocannons chew through ammo fast, wheely wheely fast

YOu can't use mwd in the deadspace missions. Please view the original post. I wanted something to take do missions in. So a AF will have to do. But I would like to know how 4 sieges can take out battleships. I know that with torpedo specialization you can get some good damage out of them, but still? Does it really work?

Yes it works quite well. I'm running 2 large nos, 4 siege 2 720 (medium) arties and 5 med tech2 drones and i plow through 0.0 bs spawns without much trouble at all. Works well vs pirates too actually.
My guess would be (after the above statement) that you have never used 4 seige launchers vs a bship before.. test it out and you see what we mean.

Now the question I have is how to armor tank it effectively. Lets say I'm going with the hi and med set up as follows...
hi 4 siege 1 tractor 1 heavy nos 2 720mm arties
med 1 100mn ab II 2 cap rechargers 1 target painter.
I am very foggy on how to armor tank. I've got the skills I just don't know what to put on it.

in my lows I run:
2 rat specific hardeners 1 1600mm armor plate (for buffer) 1 large named rep. 1 med techII rep 1 balistic control.
*note, I run 2 large Nos instead of having the tractor beam, with both nos's going I can support this tank for as long as necessary*

Current wisdom says that 800mm are not better enough compared to dual 650s to justify their use.
I think that they technically do slightly more DPS but they're tracking is worse.
Personally, for PvE I dont think that autocannons are worth it... just tOOOOO much ammo to use. siege and nos work great though.
In response to whoever said "how can that work", remember that NOS degrade the tanking of NPCs. +++

I noticed you dont add up to 7 slots for the low slots available on the Typhoon.
What about getting rid of 1600 and then using two PDUs? Then getting rid on one cap recharger and use a webi or jammer.

Med: 2x web (1 for drones 1 for Hislots) 1x AB named to go easy on the fitting 1x Target painter
Low: 1 large rep 1 med rep(damn fitting) 2x EANM T2/or 2 specific to rats and 3x CPR / 1pdu if it needs grid

This wouldn't work for lvl 4 missions but I've come up with a phoon setup that I really, really like for level 3s.
4 x Heavy Missle (or 2 and 2 assault) 4 x Dual 650 'scouts'
Webber Painter AB100 Cap Recharger
Accom Rep 3 active hardeners 2 nanofibers 1 Power Relay
It flies more like a cruiser than a BB with a top speed of 240 (600 with AB) and handles better than my cyclone. The missiles will take care of smaller ships and the AC will take out anything cruiser sized and bigger. Since it's a relatively short ranged setup, loot collection doesn't take long either.
It tends to trivialize lvl 3 missions even for a relative newbie like me (1.6m SP) but sometimes you just want an efficient money-maker and it does that extremely well. It's also proved to be a nice testbed for figuring out tracking and how to fly a BB.

I dont do agent missions so I will have to take your word that it works. All this tells me is that the bs's in these mission are extremely weak. I really cant see this setup killing a normal player bs thats setup decent.

Some L4 missions are pretty hard to finish unless you have those 4 siege launchers equipped. Vengeance(Mordu's) comes to my mind. But once the heavy drones are in range, Paon Tay drops pretty fast too.
Multiple BS spawns, ie. in the Rogue Drone Missions, can be done too by taking out the support first and chewing through the BS at close range because the opponents' tracking isn't to good. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known.
