A prosthesis implies a replacement, that looks more like an enhancement to me. Augmented, not replaced.
Also, until we see some actual Avatar content, this just seems like a kick in the teeth.

Not everything that happens to capsuleers results in death and cloning. Imagine taking a fair amount of damage on your capsule that causes injury to the pod-person but does not kill them. Clones are expensive as well as prolly fairly unpleasant to transfer to.
Up until last week i hadnt been podded for over 3 years, so that's enough time to adorne myself with tattoos etc and well as maybe get into a few knife/gun fights on stations that might have resulted in a few scars or limb loss. |

It doesn't even look like a "prosthetic arm" it looks like something painted on an existing arm, I understand this is probably a limitation of the character models but it just looks like another tattoo. |
